Take-Apart Spark plugs
I have become the custodian of probably a couple hundred vintage spark plugs. I actually think they are a bit fascinating because of how many different companies had their versions of the same thing. I was looking through them today and decided to take (I should say attempt) a few apart to see if I ...

Finish on new hickory spokes
Working on the 27 Tudor and tackling a very insect damaged (rotted falling apart) rear wheel. Getting ready to put in the new spokes but was wondering what the thoughts were on finishing before or after pressing them in. I like the natural look of the hickory so I am not planning on staining them ju...

Re: Hub puller bolt size?
Very good information! Sometimes I forget I am playing with 100 year old parts and technology. I was able to acquire a new 3/4-10 bolt and tap today and put the puller back together. I stuck the puller back on the hub got out a long pipe wrench that would rest on the ground to hold the hub while I j...

Re: Hub puller bolt size?
Thanks Jeff, friend of mine went out and measured his and agrees with yours at 3/4-10. His puller is the same one I have so I went back out thinking maybe I didn’t zero the calipers. The first caliper I used out of my tool box was my utility pair from HF which has always been very close. I grabbed m...

Hub puller bolt size?
Working on my recently rescued 27 Tudor and got a very insect damaged driver rear wheel. Attempting to remove it has been fruitless and has resulted in the center bolt of the puller to bend and crack after 4 smacks with a 4 pounder. I was able to extract the bolt from the puller but the threads need...

Re: 22 Brake pedal
I appreciate everyone's help. I removed the spring and the cam lever does just float around. Seems like there should be something retaining it on the inside but have not got that far yet. Pushing it in does line everything up the way I thought it should be except the bolt is off to the inside and no...

Re: 22 Brake pedal
I’m confused here is the link to the video I was referring to showing the brake moving with the clutch pedal. Shows it at about 38 seconds in.
https://youtu.be/gTL5z32pqtU
I have not taken the cover off the transmission yet to look at it but that shaft sticking out just doesn’t look right to me.

22 Brake pedal
Oh the things you find while looking at other things! Remember I'm a T-novice so please be kind if I am asking a stupid question. I was watching a video somewhere and noticed that when the handbrake lever was pulled back the forward pedal moved as did the brake pedal. I could not remember my brake p...

Re: August: What have you done with your T.
I actually after 3 years took my T out on the road for the first time! Bought the car and because of life circumstances never drove it. Took a weeks stay-cation and decided to get it running and moving. I had to go to YouTube university to learn how to drive it but think I got it figured out for the...

Re: Need help figuring out interior linkage for carb adjustment
John that thing to the right of the switch is where the choke pull comes through. The fuel richness setting is generally correct. Now, for the reality of it. I do not know what is making your car miss. With that out of the way I can tell you that the NH, while primitive, is adequate for idling, acc...

Need help figuring out interior linkage for carb adjustment
I have a 1922 Touring car that I have been trying to get smoothed out and get rid of a miss or hesitation. I met a bunch of guys yesterday at an event and even followed up with a phone call today with one of them and he has been great swapping pictures and walking me through some things. I have the ...

Interesting Ford fact I didn't know
Maybe I'm late to the picnic with this one but it was something I didn't know. A colleague of mine emailed this too me because of my interest in Model T's. I thought it was interesting. Ford Motor Company sold more than one million Ford Model-T’s in 1919, and each of those Model-T’s used 100 board f...
