I saw this on the forum several years ago and used cotton rope/ twine for this wheel.
I applied spar varnish, as I had a can handy.
As you can see, it turned the cord a light shade of yellow.

I fought this issue a couple of years ago. After checking / rechecking everything, a fellow club member suggested changing the coils. #15 reminded me of something I saw a couple of years ago at OCF. I dug up the pic, not the same, but similar, and it is on a 4WD vehicle.

Re: SCAMMER ALERT-Richard Armstrong
I was traveling with a 7 hour time difference and responded to a private message. The price was fair for what I was looking for and i pulled the trigger without much thought, other than “ whew, I finally found what i was looking for”. Ive been active here for about 4 years and have met many fine peo...

Re: What Has Your Chapter Done in 2025?
Four of us in the St. Louis chapter pooled our funds to buy a pan jig and a rear axle stand (thank you to Lang’s). It was time that they started earning their keep and since all of us have parts and projects stashed in our to-do lists, we have started club days to work on such projects. The first wa...

Re: What Has Your Chapter Done in 2025?
The St. Louis club had its fall tour Saturday. We had a 70+ mile loop on some local 2-lane black top roads, no seven gallon hills this time. ( I learned my lesson about that a couple of years ago). Started off fairly foggy and cool but as the mist burned off it became a glorious day. Stopped at a lo...

Andy, If you are ever East, we can make a tour happen anytime. Anything more than one car is a parade, if we go somewhere it is a tour! BTW, it only 3 days of hard driving towing a trailer to get here, I took my car to San Diego last year. It was great fun, but too much windshield time to get there.

John, I have one that is available. I added the tan canvas as a quick way to add some shade when I had my granddaughter out on a summer trip. It is just tacked on. I have a 25 roadster that i had it on for a few months until I found the correct one for my car. A friend found this at Hershey for me t...

I cannot imagine how hard it must have been to pass the guardianship of this car into someone else’s care. I have cars I have owned for 1/2 that time I do not look forward to the point in my life that I have to trust someone else to become the caretaker of them. Stewardship is an idea that carries a...

Henry,
Your knowledge, and willingness to share is what makes this forum great.
I do not possess your skill level, but I’m not afraid of trying to fabricate parts that I can, when needed.
I will file away the info on tank building for future use
