Yeah, I agree. Sometimes it's just easier to hire someone, but if you’re willing to learn, DIY can be pretty rewarding.

Stripping works well, just use a wood-safe stripper and test a small area first. You’ll still need to sand lightly after. Avoid anything too harsh to protect the wood.

My dad had a bunch of tractors on our farm, including a classic like the 1952 John Deere Model B. He loved collecting and using them for all sorts of farm work.
