Restoring nails...brings back memories. One of my jobs as a very young kid at my Grandparents place was sitting at his anvil straightening buckets full of old nails, most of them old forged square heads saved from an old demolished barn. I still have a handful of them, anywhere from 2" to 12" in len...

Contact Chaffin's to see if they have any, they've sold several sets here recently.
Also I bought a set from Lang's a while ago.
These type bearings are not being made, and remaining stocks are not sufficient to advertise, you'll need to call the vendors & inquire. Good luck!

Bottom line, anything running E85 vs gas/10% will get way worse mileage given ethanol only has about 2/3 the equivalent BTU's to gas. This also therefore equates to reduced power output. So, unless E85 is less than 2/3 the cost of gas, or you don't mind wasting $$$ from a mileage perspective or maki...

Steve, yes, the ones from Lang's have the relief as well.
Right/wrong/indifferent, I did dress up the outer relief (inner facing) edge with a thin layer of RTV to help seal the outer edge against the tube/face. But, thin/skim, certainly nothing that could have caused that much clearance issue.

Re: Rear wheel seal mystery
IIRC, installation of the inner neoprene seal requires shortening the inside end of the axle sleeve by the thickness of the seal (?) I just rebuilt my '14 axle, and ran into that reality... Between the early axle, and the neoprene seals, I had to shave a good 3/16th off the outer sleeves to flush e...

Your cast iron ends look to be in great condition. Give them an overnight soak in something like Ospho to help descale (Might be anal, but after soaking in acid I always neutralize by following up in a water bath with baking soda, then rinsing). Paint as you will with high temp.. I recently bought a...

Pat/Craig, I can add my own experience to that. When I bought my late (Aug) '25 TT Closed cab back in the 80's and tore it down, I found some interesting stuff. The original rear pan ears had obviously fatigued and had been removed in its past, replaced by aftermarket plate steel ears bolted to the ...

Maybe both A & C are repros of the TT handles. Mine had 'Ford' script stamped on the side of the shaft surround. Clear enough that my sand casts faithfully maintained. I went digging this afternoon, no joy yet. But I know I gave some extras to the guy who bought it in ATL, might be able to snag some...

My late 25 (Aug) closed cab had original cast iron Ford stamped handles as in A, the upper right version. They were impossible to find in the eighties, I used to sand cast repro's out of aluminum and sell them back then...wonder how many TT's still have those aluminum handles....pretty sure I kept a...

Daisy Mae being my '14 Touring. The front axle/steering assembly is restored, just about ready to button up the rear axle rebuild. There's not a great market for TT's as it is, I say 2k is being overly generous for an open market offer for a TT in need of so many parts.... I just use a rule of thumb to use as big a pin as possible to fully occupy the bolt hole, the pin head expanded into the nut slot, then trimmed to length to bend one arm down the side of the nut, the other arm up and across the top of the bolt. When I got Daisy Mae started the first time I already knew the tranny was worn given 3/8" play in the drum pack, but otherwise appeared decent. The rear end wasn't making any undue noise, so, I opted for a once around the block test drive. Two things noted, delayed clutch engagement, but also a loud...
