Bottom line you'll only find them with some luck. Original Boyco's & such can still come up for sale like here or Ebay, or be found in antique stores, swap meets, etc. Just keep your eye out, but they tend to be very pricey. There had been some reproduction 'Boyco' copies made years past, but no lon...

Re: wood for top of truck Reduced price
Just for specificity, what truck cab style are these for?
Definitely not for the factory closed cab, not sure about the factory C cab, not sure how tall the side/back panels are for the C. The closed cab are all narrow strips.. Might help to identify intended use.

Re: New here and an Introduction
The shoes for a TT are completely unique to the trucks, and are different and much larger than the car brake shoes.
They are cast shoes, with a riveted lining.
I don't know what availability exists today, but it took me forever to find a pair in the snail mail want ads world of the 80's.

You can buy eyelets to screw into the spark plug hole and lift with a cherry picker (engine hoist), easily found to rent. Mike, Well, I'll confirm your suspicions about white lithium. When I tore down my TT in the 80's I had to store machined parts until I had the money to restore. The perches are in correct position per my eye. Well, it's not a TT frame, and interesting use of a mating plate to adapt a car torque tube, ya wonder what happened to the TT torque tube given it would have to use a TT drive shaft (shortened as well), not a car ds, to spline into the worm.

Re: California 1925 Pickup Registration
Thank God for Florida, Horseless Carraige tag is lifetime free.
But considering what my brothers say they pay for their regular cars in CA, 174 is cheap.

Contact Chaffin's to see if they have any, they've sold several sets here recently.
Also I bought a set from Lang's a while ago.
These type bearings are not being made, and remaining stocks are not sufficient to advertise, you'll need to call the vendors & inquire. Good luck!

Left the comfort of Florida's version of 58 degree cold to brave Ohio's snow & ice 10 degree version this past week. The creeper is just one of the things that cruelly reminds us that while we still think we can do the things we did in our 20's, we're at the age that those things take longer, hurt more for longer, take longer to heal, and what we used to do all night now takes all night to get up to do. But hey, w...

I know an awful lot of folks my age (late 60's) who are reluctantly selling off cars with manual transmissions because of leg issues. Maybe heresy to purists, but you certainly can't argue with the beautiful fabrication of that unit that answers to such concerns of maintaining enjoyment.

My '14 carrier was so wallered out that my machine shop suggested this very thing as a fix, to machine the carrier and press in brass, then machine/size the axle gears to fit. Yanked out the handbrake lever today. Having restored a '25 decades ago, now that I'm cleaning up a '14 I'm constantly amazed at all the engineering differences I'm finding between the two. Some things you see improvements, while other things changed became cheaper quality (obvious cost/time cutting...

Some time ago, during one of the contrived gas price run-ups, you could buy a fine late model Cadillac or full size pickup truck dirt cheap.... while people rushed to dispose of their "gas hogs" and flocked to buy grim little econoboxes at prices well over list. "Believe".... nope, definitely later boot scraper.
Distinguished by having the curved "boot scraper" lip (early style was simply cut straight/no raised edge), and, the boot scraper style was also longer than the early style.

Bottom line, anything running E85 vs gas/10% will get way worse mileage given ethanol only has about 2/3 the equivalent BTU's to gas. This also therefore equates to reduced power output. So, unless E85 is less than 2/3 the cost of gas, or you don't mind wasting $$$ from a mileage perspective or maki...
