I should have given an explanation why a tap is not a good idea. It is because there are 4 or 5 different grades of tap tolerances. The taps used in manufacturing are a tighter tolerance and it makes the bolt a tighter fit in the tapped hole. The taps you get in a general set, the hardware store and...

These are oil based.
There is a water based stain called empire red that looks good. I may start there as it is a lot less than the oil based ones.

Take the cap off and try and move the rotor by hand see if it springs back or if it is solid. If it springs back it has weights and advances.

Re: Enclosed Trailer Options
Another thing to consider is adding very large numbers or some sort of graphic to the roof of the trailer. If your trailer is stolen it is much eaiser to spot from the air or from a higher elevation. Criminals usually swap the license plates but never look on the roof. The CHP around here says it re...

Re: Model A crank in T
I don't know if any one still does it, but we used to use Homelite Bearcat outboard motor cranks in Crosley motors. The Bearcat crank had no flange it was tapered for the outboard flywheel. We would make up a flange and mate it to the crank using a friction welding process. It should work on a Model...

Re: New AC brakes available now?
Hi, I didn’t know who ended up with Larry Sidmore’s AC brake business. I ended up with Richard Baughman’s drawings and fixtures just before Larry Sidmore passed. I used them to finish putting the AC brakes on a couple of my cars. I’ll get hold of Daniel Bennett and see if he wants to carry on with t...

I think the picture with the Center Door going thru a tree is possibly the stump tree in Washington.
There are at least 3 drive thru trees left in California. I was in a car that drove thru the Wanona tree in 1966 with a Horseless Carriage Club Tour. (It was also a Center Door Sedan)
