I confirm what Allan said. I tried welding zinc and it did not go so well. What zinc does well at is forming to a mold, even more so than aluminum. A large nut or castle nut backwards is enough. Face flush to the end of the threads. An anti bend tube or pipe is important for the tough fits as to not bend the axle. Thanks John, for the info. I'm going to make a cage/tube set up with a nut tack welded to plate welded/centered on bottom of tube.

Re: WTB Used Warford
I’ve got one that has been disassembled, cleaned, checked, and all the parts are usable. It has fair quality gears. It has been partially assembled with all the needed parts included. I’d sell it as it is for $900. I can do the final assembling and adjustments for an additional $300. The shifter is...

Re: January what have you done that's T related
Pulled the rear axle/driveshaft out of my 26. Found my leak right away. The spool has a crack from end to end on the top side. I'm going to guess the radius rods being loose on the front contributed to this. Well continue on, tear it down and see what else I find. Happy New Year T'ers.

Re: Rear axle inside bearing location
Thanks for the info, it's kind of what I was thinking. I started to pull the rear axle last night and going to rebuild it. It has had a leak at the left wheel and where the pinion spool bolts to the axle housing. I know the disk/axle shafts must have some wear as there's some end play between the sh...

Re: Viability of using 1915 running gear in a '27 truck
For what it's worth, I have a 26 Tudor sedan. Far from pure/original. It has a 24 engine/trans and a 25 rear axle. I enjoy it a lot, and will continue to. They're just the most fun you can have going slow.

Re: Rear axle inside bearing location
I have a question about rear axle outer bearings/sleeves. How much up/down or side to side movement should there be between the axle and the outer bearing?
