The Ford starting and lighting system is a 20 amp system and should be fused for 25 amps. The circuit where the fuse goes is a #12 yellow wire. Here is a diagram depicting in the notes 1919 to March 1922 Wiring Daigram w-electrics & Magneto Horn.jpg where the fuse should be wired into the curcuit.

Can you take a close up photo of both the throttle and timer pull levers on column on the garbage can. I am trying to determine the approximate length/ relationship of the two levers and the hole center to center of both pull levers.

One comment about above mentioned reverse current cutout "cutin" adjustment.
The third brush regulation generator on the Model T should be adjusted for Armature cutin and contact closure at 7.2 volts.
