Re: Any Rt. 66 caravans in western states next year?
Thanks Craig and BabyC for your comments. As to camping, no. Been there, done that. And if possible part of the adventure would be to stay in any of the old motels that are still open. (The story of the one in Oklahoma City is a topic for another thread — suffice to say we weren't the only living th...

Re: Any Rt. 66 caravans in western states next year?
Thanks, Babychadwick. Lots to think about. When you write that the T is only good for short sprints, are you referring to any T or just your particular one? As we're new to the T we need to gain some experience with it before we take on this adventure. I've taken many road trips in old cars and done...

Re: My water temp gage can’t be repaired…
I hate it when something can't be repaired, so it occurred to me to see what AI might offer. Here's the answer I got: ________ BC Instruments LLC offers specialized repair and calibration of mechanical and capillary temperature gauges used in automobiles, aircraft, and marine vehicles, with a focus ...

Re: Any Rt. 66 caravans in western states next year?
Once you drive east what's the plan, turn around and drive back? If the national tour is in the Ozarks it might be a good convoy to go there or a convoy back.. Hi Babychadwick: So far the plan is to drive eastward from Barstow or perhaps Victorville, taking as much of the old road as possible. In s...

Re: Any Rt. 66 caravans in western states next year?
You might want to buy the latest edition of McClanahan's "EZ 66" book..... If it solidifies, I would LOVE to take this trip! Hi Bill: Thanks for the tip on the book. If you send me your email I'll keep you in the loop: gregl@mail.fresnostate.edu There is lots to think about but first priority will ...

Hi YellowTRacer:YellowTRacer wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 5:11 pmI might be, with a little arm twist and some others joining in the drive, be interested in doing that. Not in old #4 but maybe our 1924 Brand X (Chevrolet) truck.
Are you still interested? Shoot me a p.m. if you are.

Re: Any Rt. 66 caravans in western states next year?
Bumping this thread; there are two others interested in a possible fall trip on 66 from Calif. eastward to a point to be decided. If anyone else is interested, shoot me an email through the forum and we'll see what might work out. As I wrote above, the trip would be in the fall, exact dates to be set.

If the above ideas don't pan out, you might check with Hanson Rivet in the Los Angeles area:

Hi Tim:
See my thread here re. 66:

We will more than likely go in the fall as that's when two weeks off work will be available. We're not doing the desert in summer!

Re: Any Rt. 66 caravans in western states next year?
Thanks for your thoughts, Steve. Last year we went up from Kingman through Peach Springs and on down to Seligman but I can't remember if we bailed there or kept on to Ash Fork. A few checks with Google street view shows lots of open space and not much else. Before that we took the loop through Oatma...

Any Rt. 66 caravans in western states next year?
Hi folks: New to the forum and hoping you can point us in the right direction. I've done a search here and don't see anything pertinent to my question. My grandson has a '26 roadster pickup and since next year will be the 100th birthday of the truck as well as Route 66, it would be fun to drive it a...
