Re: Wishbone reconect problem.

Thanks guys!! I used all your tips to make it an easy fix: Rocked the wheels to horizontal alignment, used bottle jack to move ball to correct height and used ratchet tow ropes to gently move ball into position!! Thanks again!!!

Wishbone reconect problem.

I just adjusted my rod beatings. I removed the inspection cover on a 4-dip pan which necessitated disconnecting the wishbone ball socket. When putting it all back together, the ball socket does not line up with the pan. It is about 3/8 of an inch off. Is this normal? Is there some type of trick to g...

Re: Centerdoor question

Thanks Will! The seat back had that hook but the slot on the rear window frame was missing. It must have got lost during the restoration. But the gods were smiling because I was rummaging through some miscellaneous spares when I ran across a modern metal bracket that was perfect! Four screws and 10 ...

Centerdoor question

Is the rear seat back cushion secured to the body in any way? I noticed that it does take much force for it to tip forward. I have not seen any hooks/brackets on the wood frame to which the springs/upholstery is attached.

Thanks,

Dave

Re: Iola, adios.

I spent all day Friday walking around and managed to find some much need T parts: steering wheel, head light rim and lenses. All for decent prices! I also had a chance to meet and greet on of my all-time heroes in the custom car world: Gene Winfield. It was a pleasant and enjoyable day! :D

1922 Centerdoor paint and reupholstery complete

I put the finishing touches on my centerdoor's restoration this week. It took about a year longer than anticipated but the wait was worth it.

Re: Firewall welting installation problem

Thanks for all your ideas. Since this is a one-time installation, I opted out of paying $20+ for the pliers Langs sells. Mark, I followed you and used a pneumatic pop rivet gun to secure the welting - easy to install and nice and snug!!!

Thanks again...

Firewall welting installation problem

I'm trying to install the welting that goes on the firewall. I have a metal firewall and I'm supposed to use small brass rivets to secure it. I'm having trouble getting the rivets to fit tightly. Is there a trick to this? Thanks.

Re: What are you doing with your "T" in May

I will finish off the month compounding the lacquer paint on my one remaining fender and the top of the hood. A little touch-up is needed but will have it all put back together by the weekend!!! Happy Day!!

Re: Remedy for broken door latch return spring?

Thanks for the very useful tips. I was able to find an assortment of torsion springs at the local ACE hardware store. Using one of those and some plastic shims, I was able to repair the latch! The kit from Synders looks really close to what was there originally. I may order it for back up in case th...

Re: IT LIVES...

Yep, I'm still roaring around the country roads in southern Wisconsin! The back roads here are paved and have little or no traffic - except for occasional farm implement! So, I really enjoy driving around the area. I decided to redo the paint/upholstery after having all the mechanicals redone. Below...

Remedy for broken door latch return spring?

My centerdoor left door latch has a broken return spring. I have been unsuccessful in coming up with some type of fix. I am hoping that someone on the forum has BTDT and can offer up a solution. TIA
