I have this one it’s early around body number 191xxx. I’m right there with you. Clear is perfect on cars with a bunch of Metallic so it doesn’t get blotchy when it buffed through layers of paint. The clear coat eliminates that issue. It is my opinion that a good single stage urethane is a good choice for a Model T. Respectfully Mark Eyre

Turn it over look at the bottom side where the bolts go through to attach it to the drum. The 26-27 will be completely smooth and the pre 26 will have the lip that fits on the groove on the edge of the narrow brake drum.

Qual Khrom in Erie Pa does fabulous nickel plating. They are a restoration shop so they are familiar with the process. Good work is expensive but make a restoration or break a restoration in my opinion.

A Good substitute is Nason Fulthane single stage urethane. It has a lot of the same properties of Centari. Dries hard and is easy to buff if needed. Just my opinion and know you didn’t ask. Just trying to offer an alternative.

Re: The Time Machine
I have had good luck v-ing it out slightly and get it clean. Use 50/50 solder and a good flux. Solder it using an iron not a torch. It’s not under pressure and will last a long time till you decided to have it welded or stitched. Sorry if I spelled anything i correctly I’m getting used to new glasses.

I restored that 20 pick up over the past two years. I regret that they didn’t put a picture of the generator assembly in the Model T Times article.

Re: 17-18 Coupelet mystery
It was on a 21 chassis. I have the original frame. It doesn’t have the holes for a carrier. The gentleman I purchased it from was going to build a rat rod out of it. I have the body and the frame and the title. It originally was an 18.

Re: 17-18 Coupelet mystery
It has removable center posts. I will restore it eventually. I’m missing the side lamp brackets that have 4 countersunk screws that hold them to the body. I have seen it on two different Ford documents one calling it a Coupe and the other calling it a Couplet. Thoughts on which it is exactly? I can’...

Re: Very Late '13 Body
I restored one a few years ago that had the late 13 rear crossmember and a 13 style body with reinforcement and 14 style rear door latches. It was a feature article in the Model T Times about 5 years ago. It had the metal flat top coil box. Body was a 13 style with the long doors. I can’t remember t...

Re: Eyre '17 Touring
The interior top and tires were replaced about 25 years ago as far as we can tell. Engine looks to never have been out still has all its cotter pins and engine pans installed. No wear on either the spark or throttle side of the quadrant. Starts easily cold on the mag to which is a bonus. I did have ...

Re: Rare model T brass carb?
I’ll post a picture of it tomorrow. I since have seen one ...

We have one just like it on our 12 Torpedo. It’s serial number 145xxx and it came out of the Barney Pollard collection years ago. I restored it runs great. I’m have always wondered why the Kingston carb for 12 isn’t really listed anywhere…..

Re: Preserve an original finish help needed
So the funny thing how this car came about my dad had a decent original 18 he gave to my son to restore. We got to thinking it would be fun to have an unrestored example and a restored example of the same car. Here is where we are on the restoration of the early 18 touring. The one he bought at the ...
