Bug pump on the back of my cam, been there running just fine for many decades. You just need to insure the pickup and discharge are in the correct orientation. This ensures when shut down the pump is not allowed to leak the oil out and when running the flywheel helps to force the oil in.

Re: Model T Trailer plans/ideas?
Running without springs is something I have been toying with. However, considering long term I want more period wheels I think it is smarter to use springs. Considering the speedster has a shortened wheelbase and is lighter than a T the Buick should be more than capable of towing.

Re: Model T Trailer plans/ideas?
No reason to invest in a modern trailer when I have one, it's what Ive used for trailering all over the US.. The idea is to put together something that would pass as vintage.

Re: Are you a real human?
Did anything change with the pictures? I was trying to upload the other day and receiving errors. I forget what the error was (it wasn't the too big), trying again and it seems to work just fine now. Or at least on this thread, the error would pup up on the status box and wouldnt show the check. IMG...

Model T Trailer plans/ideas?
When I get home I am going to start putting together a very lightweight single axle trailer (with good brakes) to use behind the Buick. I have a decent pile of aluminum I beams and intend to work with those. I'm trying to come up with something looking period so most likely early fenders and wheels ...

Re: Want to buy, T era camping gear and 4 wheel drive unit
Starting to get my motorcamp stuff together as well. We found a kampkold cooler, coleman quicklite and prentiss waber stove on ebay. I have a fair bit invested in them and will need to rebuild/replace the mica shade but hopefully should have them functional by summer. For our table I am doing someth...

Not only is it not lost but we are on the tip of a new revival. As a single dad (Don't need to ask the wife for permission anymore which is good and bad) I have nurtured an interest which is a love for the old cars in my son (10 years old). When I was growing up there was the mtfca local chapters, a...

When someone asks how old you are the correct answer is "Old enough to know better, young enough to try again" I think we all fit this from time to time.

Re: Speedster build.
Any reason you cant bend the tierod to clear or cut the wishbone and relocate to the frame? Model A tie rod ends work well for this, good idea also to attach to top and bottom of the axle.
Other methods for lowering would be a drop axle (varied amount) or chevy spindles.

2025 Speedster Rally and Reunion
Thinking about trying to make it home this spring (been stuck working in FL) and thinking about the reunion and rally as it may be able to do both. Ideally I would make it home dial in the 29 Buick and 26 Speedster get the trailer set and hit the road camping along the way. Of course we all know how...

Re: Post Milton information
I made it out to the island today, for most it is completely unliveable. I have a basic harbor freight 3500 inverter generator and my wits and it is unlikely power/water will be off for many weeks. The goal is to keep the mold away as most of the homes are baking right now and will be a disaster whe...

Before Milton Helene took out the AC so I was running 2 portables and 2 dehumidifiers. One portable had a drain and would pull out 10+ gallons a day. Dehumidifiers were draining into the toilets and the other portable had would vaporize and blow out the water. The house was closed up so it was just ...

Re: Hurricane Milton due Wednesday
Power is on at the office and marina (Sarasota and Bradenton). The marina in Port Charolette is still trying to get operational so we can launch the smaller boat and get out to the house out on the island. Current status is no power since tuesday (mold fears) but the house appeared undamaged (downst...

Re: Post Milton information
Sarasota has taken a respectable hit. The boat and marina came VERY close to coming apart but held. Several boats did not make it including a large 90-100 foot yacht that is on shore now. Other than the blown out window before the eye went over us we came thru without any damage. Internet is sketchy...

We just went thru the eye, the wind is starting to pick back up now. I lost a window on the suburban and a friends trailer has shifted. Now the direction switches and things can get ugly. The weather Channel is reporting from where the yacht is tied up in Sarasota. They are also in the eye.

We are currently stationed in Bradenton (Manatee County) where we will be waiting out the storm. Jim Cantore is staying at a hotel here in Bradenton and there is a fair chance we will go thru the eye. The boat (65' Bluewater) I do work on, not mine is tied up at the marina down the street in Sarasot...

Sitting here waiting for the storm (Bradenton north of sarasota south of tampa) I anticipate power outage soon. Propane tanks dont get blown away they will float.
