Re: Hand crank bushing installation issue
The old bushing was worn and it was another one of those noises on a T. obviously there were no issues with it before, only worn. Car has not run into anything since I have owned it (14 years). The engine was rebuilt 4 or 5 years ago, and the pan was perfect on the pan jig. My error in not replacing...

Hand crank bushing installation issue
I recently replaced the bushing for the hand crank. I cannot engage the claw with the pin on the crankshaft. The crank with out the claw mounted on it appears to be hitting the front of the crankshaft too high for alignment of the claw, in othewords the bushing is not correctly in straight. What did...

Barn find Barnfinds
I am aware the term "barn find" is not always popular, but I am using it because everybody knows what it means. I used it twice, because these cars, all 5 of them, were barn finds years ago and they are just seeing the light of day again. First of all I am president of the local MTFCA in Omaha Ne, h...

Well I don't know what to do next. Second Magneto I have assembled. First one went together as it should, took a little shimming to get a .025 air gap. Second one not so much. Assembled the magnets to the flywheel using new spools. made sure all of them were in the same plane using a KR Wilson gap g...

The new pump oiler I bought seemed to be working pretty well, until it stopped pumping anything. Cheap junk you find today. Any suggestions on where to find one that will last?

Re: surestop disc brakes
Craig I been thinking about your oil pump idea. My calipers have 4 bleeders, two up, two down I assume so there will be 2 up on which ever side they are mounted. If you pump from the top, where does the air go? The fluid line in to the caliper is about half way between the ends of the caliper - woul...

I have had sure stop disc brakes on my car for a number of years, and they have worked great. However I recenly had my rear axle out of the car which meant disconecting the brake lines. Now I cannot get them bleed. The master cylinder pumps out the bleeder fine I'm pretty sure I have the air out of ...

My wife would try to make a boot for the top on my 21 touring. Is there some sort of pattern out there? I'm not worried if it is accurate or not, my car is all T but not acurate, basically it is a 21 body on a 26/27 chassis thanks

early fan on a 27 engine
I have not run a fan on my car ever. No problems with overheating with a Berg radiator. I have a 27 engine in my 21. However I picked up an earlier fan, that mounts on the engine not the water outlet. has anybody done this and found a way to adjust the fan belt tension, other than to replace the fro...

where do I find information on how to reset the magnets on the flywheel
If the information is easy to find I've missed it or overlooked it. There is plenty of information on how to set the air gap, but nothing on getting the magnets in the same plane, or the orientation of the magnets. I've removed the magnets from a number of flywheels to get the fly wheel, but never h...

New Brassworks radiator
Just installed a new Brassworks radiator in a 25 T coupe. The owner had ordered it the end of last summer and finally recived it around New Years. It replaced an original round tube. I had the usual hassles with the radiator hoses getting them to come apart. I did have one issue with the radiator, t...

There is a local individual who is trying to find a home for a full set of all 4 doors for a fordor 26/27 to settle an estate. It sits on 3/4" plywood. And yes it is a 12 volt battery, I got tired of purchasing 6 volt batteries, they just don't last. just a note for all so they don't repeat an episode like mine. I recently bought a new battery for my touring. Like everything else it cost more and was a little smaller than the battery it replaced. Both of the replys above are very helpful, Jeff Cordes says it needs a regulator, but at one time this was a running car, and there is no regulator on this car. TRDxB2 has a very similar alternator pictured, but it does not explain if it requires a regulatoror not. I still don't know if it need a re...

Re: Now better photos. "Does anyone have a recommendation for an air filter?"
I'll have to do a little digging to find the part number, but I use a K&N filter. I use a PVC plumbing piece I had to reduce the diameter a bit to slip into the carb. but it fits real nice, and the hogs head keeps it in place, as it is somewhat of a wedged in place fit. So far after several years us...

Re: Model T Electrical Dilemma/Request for Information
For around $40 you can purchase a converter 6 volts to 12 volts. They are not large, I think mine is 3 or3-1/2 square and an inch deep. They are available from both Ebay and Amazon. They have 4 wires, 6 volt in, 12 volt out and 2 ground wires. I twisted the ground wires together and connected them t...

If you ever watch the show, and the little roadster pickup is in the episode with Tom driving it, they usually have the spark wrong. One time he gets in and advances both the spark and throttle the same amount before he starts the car, and it starts just fine. In another episode he is running down t...
