Re: What head gasket for HC heads?

The new production copper head gaskets are slightly different from the old style copper gaskets, and address the fit problems you have found with the excellent Prus head. I ordered mine from Langs recently and it fits correctly. Thank You! to who-ever modified the new gaskets. It will save a lot of ...

Re: WTB: aftermarket T head

RadRacer, this is your thread. If the Sherman head on Facebook is what you are looking for, go for it. I did send the poster on Facebook a question about the small holes in each combustion chamber along side each sparkplug hole. This is something I have not seen before.

Thanks for posting all of this, Frank!

I'd love to try a Sherman SuperFire head, but I've never found one that was for sale.

Re: Amp meter

Bill, my T has an ammeter that I believe is like yours. When it gets sticky, I remove the back of it and spray it real good with starting fluid. Let it dry, reassemble, and it's good for another 5 or 6 years. Electronic parts cleaner would probably work also, but I never seem to have any around.

The oil cooler tubes are a neat concept! I'd like to add the idea to a project I'm working on if you don't mind, Hank.

Re: Texas T Distributor Problem

If your distributor has had this modification already, you can tell as the cap hold-down clips are pop riveted to the distributor.

Re: Texas T Distributor Problem

Texas T repositions the breaker plate to make the Bosch distributor work correctly. Yours must have missed this step. (As did mine!) Remove the screws that hold the breaker plate (and distributor cap hold-down clips) and turn the breaker plate 13/16 of an inch counterclockwise. Drill the distributor...

That sounds like it might be a broken rear axle ring gear/pinion tooth.

Re: High rpm vibration

It might also be that you have a mixture of heavy (early) and light (later) connecting rods. Perhaps remove the inspection cover and check before you pull the engine.

Re: U & J carburetor and manifold

I received my OF back from Stan on Monday. It looks great. He does them in batches so 4 or 5 other guys probably got theirs back also.
Have faith. Stan will get to it. Us old guys move slow!
