This is my Model T. I did not quite make the photo. It was taken October 1954, four months before I was born. Car looks basically the same today.

ZDDP was also not around in Model T days. It was developed in the 1940's. And by most authorities, it is really only needed in high performance engines, which I would not think the Model T qualifies.

I would tend to agree that only "good, conventional" advice be given. Problem is WHO gets to determine what is "good, conventional" advice? Me?

My father got our 1925 Touring in 1952. It has been mine since 1986. About the only thing that you see different in the photo since 1952 are the tires and the top.

I find this topic interesting. I am not a fan of top end restorations for many reasons. My thoughts are probably more relevant to newer cars, like 50’s and 60’s as there are more of those in much better shape than Model T’s, but I will give it a go anyway.
