I had a 24 , great but noisy. They had an air cooled engine . The body and may parts like the motor base and the trans case were aluminum.
Sadly I sold it back in the late 50s or early 60s

When your tank is too far gone. T tanks are available but what about others I had a 24 Franklin which also had the gauge in the top of the tank. I found an old cotton work glove behind the ignition switch in my 27 TT. It appears that the old wires were shorting out
against the dash so the quick fix looked like it had lasted for years.

Has anyone checked out boat gas tanks ? I had a 24 Franklin that had a sieve for a gas tank. We took it to an outfit the made gas tanks for boats and not only made a duplicate tank but took the old gas gauge and put it in the tank in the same location. The Franklin had an external gauge on the tank....

I totally agree with Charlie. Those things are dangerous.
There used to be a few around N.J. when I was a kid.
Some were a chassis with a belt running off the rear wheel.
Hit a knot and you were cutting more than wood !

Have a 27 TT Closed cab with just a few badly weathered sticks too.
Just wondering if they used chicken wire on the wood to support the
padding like so many other 20's cars I had . I don't have enough left
of my top to check.

As a teenager , we had an old Oliver 70 tricycle. The rear wheels were about five foot high.
My brother and I used to hand crank that monster. Good thing it never kicked back. I'm
sure it would have done some real damage.

Is that a wooden front axle on the car ? May be a Brush. My father ,born 1905, told me when he
was a kid of 6 or so he often used to wait by the dirt trace next to his father's store to get a ride in
a neighbor's Brush when he returned home from work.

I used to love there snow when i was a kid but now not so much. We hit low 60's yesterday here in S/W Missouri !!!!!! Years ago I had a 28 Essex coupe that I couldn't find tires for 4.50-5.50 x 20. I got 6.00 x 20 truck tires from my father's oil truck and they fit on the split rims. No getting stuc...
