They're a little heavy on the Louse and cock-roach theme aren't they.

Don't seem to find this model any earlier than 1913 and no later than 1914, that said I suppose that it could extend beyond 1914 if the purchaser didn't want electric lights (magneto or otherwise). Anyhoo, this lamp is characterized by the Hood , the Bezel , the Closure Thumb Screw and the Gas Inlet all being made of brass, the body of the lamp is...

Every time I see a bowery boys picture I wonder who ended up with their 1914 jalopy. I believe the series ended in 1955-56 and it seems unlikely that the car was not moved on to a collector. Does anyone in the LA area have knowledge of where the car went after the mid fifties. Seems like a pretty important car with all the on screen time it had.

No, her car would have been a Hispano Suiza. But she may have had the model T in her tool box, to be sure that she wouldn't get stranded out somewhere.

So I get a bill from North Texas Tollway Authority for $40.76 for driving on NTTA Toll Road and TEXpress Lanes/Tolled Highway Lanes. Guess when they contacted Oregon DMV they forgot to add the HV part of the plate number, HV is for heavy trailers, so they only used the plate number. The plate number is for my 1925 cutdown touring. Run your motor in the dark, sparks jumping between wires will easily become evident. My Dodge was running poorly until I opened the hood one night out in the driveway and saw the lightshow. Had sparks jumping from the spark wires to the headers on 4 cylinders. Don.

A simple coil (choke) can act as a variable resistance (actually impedance) in a variable frequency AC circuit. For the operating frequncy range of the T magneto, I'd think you'd need an iron cored choke, similar to the primary winding of the T coil. It would be placed in series with the devices, such as lights, that you wanted to provide with...

Engine hood not sitting well

Hello.
I kindly want to ask what I can do, the engine hood is not following well the shape of the radiator.
When I got my Lizzy, the steel rod on top was rusted in. This I could solve, I turned the rod left and right until I could pull it out. Then I sanded it,applied a bit of grease as rust protection, and re-inserted it. It still goes a bit...

Hello, Frank,
thank you for writing.
Rainer, if you apply some petroleum jelly or some cooking oil on the hood and the new leather it will possibly squeeze in. Only use a rubber hammer when working on the hood. Most hoods on the model T’s are somewhat bent up like yours and if it doesn’t bother you, drive it the way it is, there isn’t enough...

On December 26th, the Horseless Carriage Club of Southern California hosted their annual Holiday Motor Excursion. The tour is limited to cars built prior to 1933. About 100 cars of all years showed up at the starting point. The weather was great, and so were the drivers of the cars. We even had a couple of Dusenburgs show up, but no Jay Leno this...

So I I have been planning to install some Rocky mountain breaks in my car. Recently I found out an interesting problem. My original brakes have so much stopping power I can lock up the rear wheels. Would a better upgrade be to get wider Wheels? Mabey Chevy ones?
Also, I dont have an aux transmission.

Here is an informative youtube video on the effect magnets have on pacemakers. This is good news for all of us with pacemakers owning Model Ts with magnetos. I couldn't capture more than the title but encourage all of you with pacemakers to watch it!
It's called Medtronic pacemakers and ICDs and how they react to magnets . . .

Hello,
Over 10 years ago when I first put together my 1926 touring I used a stack of washers rather than body blocks and I spent lots of time adjusting the height of each stack to get the doors to open without problems. The washers worked, but I am wanting to use the wood body blocks. My issue may be that my body has had a lot of life, but I...

Thanks Jeff!
I imagine that you are correct that the frame/body is bent.
Here are the height measurements I found:
T3600A Left Front 1-1/2”
T3600A Left Middle 1”
T3600A-B Left Back 3-1/2+”
T3600A Right Front 1-3/8”
T3600A Right Middle-1-3/16”
T3600A-B Right Back 3-1/2+”
Note the center on both sides is lower forcing the frame to bend.
Now I...

I was going to put this on the other thread, but didn't wish to detract from the Huff information in that thread. However, mention was made of the original, or first Huff magneto, so I thought a fresh thread warranted.

I discovered an interesting solution to the age-old problem of putting a conventional group 1 battery in a Model T battery carrier. How many of you have built a Model T from parts? I mean every single part, including nuts and bolts? That includes building a complete engine and transmission, rear end and everything! How many know the difference between an original Ford bolt and nut and the Home Depot variety. The new replacement bolts that Lang's sells are an exception.
