The owner said it was but he wrapped the shaft with black electrical tape years ago , I got the outer tape off but the resedue is super thick, tried almost everything even 3 m remover best stuff still no help, been soaking, do not want to bead blast will clog hoses, any ideas? Bob

The saddle that holds the top half windscreen in has a circular hook that sits on the inside of the screen. What is it's function?

I’m in the process of putting new sockets and bows from John’s on my car. I have a new top also. I have done a few searches and I am not able to figure out how long the sockets with the bows are supposed to be. I've noticed a number of early 15's on Toms posts lately with larger than normal headlights. The judging guidelines says these were 8 5/8 . But it fails to mention the size they became. I have a '15 stored at another location, but don't feel like going over there to check. What is the new size?

This is supposedly a radiator high shell for a '26 but I think it needs a repair on the hood side.

In the early spring of 2020, I took the rear axle apart to inspect thrust washers and bearings and found solid rollers in all if the axle bearings. Prior to disassembly, I noticed there was about .025 inch of up and down play in the outer bearings. This looseness sort of concerned me.

I re-threaded the radiator and found it to be 5/16 -24.
Some time ago the rods for the parking brake looked rusted out and for safety, I replaced them.
As it is they are the same diameter and thread per inch.

I am using a 24 roadster running gear making a pie wagon replica. I am using a 3/4 inch plywood firewall and as a result the steering shaft is to short as the spark and throttle rods are short in the steering bracket on the frame.
My question is can I grind off the rivets on the column collar move it back the needed distance and reattach?

I just got 4 of these today I’m pretty nice shape. They are aftermarket wires, but I don’t know what they are. No hubs came with them but it’s a three pin drive. I might move these on as I have a complete set of Dayton’s (5 wheels and all the hubs). But I need to know what they are.

The photo shows the left (non-ball end) clevis on the steering tie rod on my ‘24 as I found it after stripping the paint. Is it common to see the clevis brazed to the tie rod? I ask because this looks a little amateurish, and I don’t remember how the one on my ‘25 was attached when I stripped and painted it last fall....

I have a question about a 1927 coupe roof. Is the roof flat from back to front, or is there a slight drop over the back of the door to the front? Even though these aren't signed, I'm certain they are Witt artwork. I have several of this same style that are signed, including the last one of the previous batch. Interesting to me is that the two completely different styles of artwork are both postmarked either 1917 or 1918, suggesting that they were drawn at the same time.
