Previous to knowing better, I used 12 volts on two well driven cars for years, without any modification to the starter. Both cars had alternators.
We ran both of these cars for many years without damage to the bendix spring. Both cars started very easily...

Last weekend I was installing LED headlights in my 16 coupelet and accidentally applied battery voltage to my mag post. The result is a dead mag, luckily I have a battery installed and can run off it. Is there anyway to revive the mag without engine removal?

I'm working on the wood for my 26 touring. It looks like the seat bottoms sit in a metal frame. When I order the seat springs do they come with a wood frame that sit in the metal one or is the fabric held in place with Hog rings?

I need a whole new top for my 15 runabout. Currently there is nothing on the car. I have a vendor in mind for the top material I just cannot figure out who makes a decent set of irons (metal structure). Any suggestions?

After fresh oil loosened it up enough I could only get 3 volts AC, after reading past posts I gathered 3 hot batteries and my good 00 wire jumper cables, couldn't find anything other than north, and a little less than north I just picked a spot I could find again , marked it on flywheel, after 2 days still had 7 volts AC, then thinking about coil...

Took the engine apart to inspect and repair some parts. Was looking at the distributor and wondering what I have to do to get the gears lined up correctly. The cap is marked 1,2,3 and 4, so that part is done. I know I need to set it on TDC. Then what?

I am attaching several photos near the door on my 1927 coupe to show small threaded screws that I am puzzled as to what they are for. The first photo shows one that is holding a piece of upholstery. I don't remember others doing that when I removed the upholstery, but probably they were.

I’ve been keen on putting a small drum Ruckstell and disc brakes on my ‘26 RPU for a number of years now and finally pulled the trigger on the brake set after acquiring the Rux last year. Any tips or advice regarding the brake set up would be appreciated. It was ordered from Lang’s.

From my very little knowledge , master vibrator accessory units were plentiful in the very early days of the Ts. I believe they were used because of the poor reliability of stock units. If you have ever hooked up and used one, can you share? I’ll post pics of two different units, but think there are lot more examples. Here is the K-W unit....

I put a roof frame on my Model T truck and stretched the vinyl over it. It came out very nice and tight. I now notice that the vinyl has space, between it and the wood cross members,that could attract air flow.
My question is, has anyone used adhesive to glue their vinyl to the frame work.

The paint has been removed from my coupe using crushed glass. No problems noted.

It took 5 1/2 hrs. to do the things shown in the photos. I had previously taken the rear fenders, running boards, splash panels, package tray, and brake handle assembly to the blasters shop as a test for problems. It took 1 1/2 hrs. for those eight pieces.

Can the clutch spring be replaced by taking the hog head off and dropping the drive shaft.

I drilled and fit a Dan McEachern deep sump to a 4 dip pan, with spacer, running an A crankshaft .I put 4 - 7/8 inch stand pipes in the intermediate dip plate, and a 1inch dam at the rear of the pan.
I'm concerned that could increase oil consumption due to excessive splashing.

On the radiator on my 1915, the top tank has come loose from the side. It is at a radiator shop now, scheduled as a winter project. I noticed that Brassworks has as an option on new radiators of an external reinforcing brace presumably to stave off the malady.

I need to get the steering column out of my ‘24 Coupe. It’s simple on a ‘26 being that the firewall is notched out under the column and I’ve done that multiple times. Do I need to remove the timing rod casting rivet before this can happen?
