Does anyone know when Ford went from the one piece dust ring held on with a screw in front of the terminal stud to the split type held with a bolt and nut? McCalley's book shows a generator on page 277 with the early setup. The stud is not attached to the buss bar like the later ones. Pictures don't want to post today!

The attached photo shows the floor under the seat inside my couple. It will be blasted cleaned. However, there are small seams near the front vertical part of the seat support. The starter in my 1927 Roadster Pickup has always seemed weak ever since I purchased this restored pickup. In order to eliminate all the other factors, I installed the following items new and insured all the connections were clean and tight:

1) Optima Red Top 6V 800 CCA battery.
2) Langs heavy duty 1/0 cable set (battery to switch, switch to...

New 12V battery, new fuel tank and sediment bulb, full flowing fuel.

Mixture knob counterclockwise about 7/8 of a turn.

We removed the hot air pipe to make it easier to spray starting fluid.

I'm working on a '13 T that has been 'Converted' to electric Headlights.. It's not mine, but I could not say no to a fellow T'er in trouble.
Presently it has late model Lamp Reflectors, with Bulb Sockets soldered to the reflectors. This looks like an Old Conversion. The Reflector just rattles around in the housing, and it has late model Headlight...

I am questioning how my generator is mounted to the running board. Mine has a 3/4 inch piece of wood under it to raise it above the ribs in the outside of the running board. perhaps the unit is the wrong size? (base to big in diameter)? The tie rod bushings of my spindle arms are not parallel with my spindle bolts. They are tipped upward a little. I loosened my spindle arms while I rebuild the axle assembly. I finally found a way to raise the body so we could remove the gas tank for cleaning...I asked my son Bailey to see what he could figure out!

We have a new fuel tank, but it has some minor rust on the inside near where the baffle(s) were welded.

I'm asking for your thoughts how to best deal with this; beads, beads with diesel fuel, Muriatic...

(1) How do you remove the hub caps on wire wheels? I have applied penetrating oil and am waiting a day or so.

(2) Do you paint the entire individual spring leaf (prime and top coats) and then apply the slip coat or do you apply the slip coat to the bare metal contact surface?

(3) The rear spring tie bolt on my 1927 coupe has the small head....

For those concerned about travel to Luray, I can at least report on my region, that as of this evening, gasoline is available at the Inwood, West Virginia exit (exit 5 on I-81). Inwood is about 60 miles north of Luray. Hopefully, news that gas is flowing again will ease the panic-buying.

It amazes me just how much punishment Henry's Model T can take and still ran.
I have seen a lot of loose rivets over the years when dealing with transmissions. All or some loose but never seen this before.
This had to happen over a period time, but yet kept on running. I slipped the shaft forward just for the picture.

My friend has a true barn find 1913 touring. We got it running a while back and have done a lot of work on it. I bought this interesting tail light bracket a few years ago and want to use it under the end of my pickup box. I need the license plate mounting extension that inserts in the side hole. Does anyone known if these are available new? I know the same piece is used for the 1915 license plate tail light assembly.

I'm getting ready to install a new top on my car. I found an old post giving measurements from top of the sockets to the top of the bows.

From the Automobile, 1908. same year the Model T was released on the public as a 1909 model, two articles of interest. The Model T was out and about around January 1908, but Ford was not fully marketing the 1908 Model T - article states it was decided to test it in actual service before putting it on the market.

So, the pawl is rounded and doesn't engage the teeth on the quadrant on my 23 TT. It looks like the quadrant has been replaced but not the rest of it. It looks like there is a pin that holds the lever on the shaft and then once that is off I can work on replacing the pawl and it's pin. Should the pin on the lever just drive out or am I going to...

If anyone is needing something hauled there or back I am heading down light and coming home empty so far?

I have a Model T with a 12 volt system, with a 6 volt starter. I have had an issue with the starter spinning to fast, so I have been able to hand start the car for a few years, no problem. The issue now, I would like to use the starter, on cold days.
The starter hardly turns the motor over, besides start it. The battery shows to be changed but...

I wonder if there is a good fix for a loose bearing race in the front wheel hub of the model T? The tolerance is about 012 thousand and the race just drops in. Has any one use the Lock tight product to tighten the race in the housing?
The hub is a Three bolt Ash wire wheel. Let me know that you have done with this problem. Tom

I am looking for an engine re-builder in the Los Angeles/So Cal area who does Insert bearings.

So is this where the fuze goes? Yellow wire that comes from the battery side of the starter switch. Also can I go to my local hardware store and get rubber washers for each contact of the starter switch? Looks like there are two rubber washers for each stud.

What's the trick/tool to remove the outer wheel bearing race/cup. Is there a special tool that one needs or can one use a thin drift to remove them. I've had no luck. Thanks in advance.
