Been a few years (2018) since there were any posts referencing Performance Tire Plus and wanted to see if anyone has any recent experience with them. The 'free' shipping on Wards Riversides feels almost too good to be true, so just thought I'd see if anyone has had recent positive experience with them as a vendor. I do understand that the free...

I know nothing about Performance Tire Plus, but when I have bought Riversides they were not boxed, just wrapped in tape with a shipping label stuck on them. The extra dough was for shipping, not boxing .

Haggerman museum has several photos of monstrous sturgeon fish. My question is how old are they. I remember a story about a turtle hunter changing his ways after he found arrow heads and black powder rifle balls embedded in one of the turtles.

After deciding that it needs more than just a valve job, I pulled the engine out of the Coupe. It's time for a complete overhaul!

My pinion gear broke into three pieces. Had to put a standard gear in that I had until I can find a 10 tooth. The old lift made this a pretty easy job. Going to add safety hubs while I'm at it.

Celluloid windows were pretty good when new, but faded with sun, rain, scratched and got hazy.

How do I remove the carburetor rod from the dash of my 1927 coupe? Attached are two photos.

Jim, What is the right location for a cotter key?
The distance will vary depending on which carb Adj. rod and knob, there are 11 different rod lengths, for '25 to 26, 26-27 and 26 -27 with vaporizer carbs, these fit the different body styles , TT or chassis only.
Really not too important where the cotter hole is located, as long as the 4591...

Anyone having issues with newly purchased push button starter switches?
Three years ago I replaced my starter switch on my 26 sedan because it was becoming intermittent. That particular switch was on the car for at least 25 years. It’s the same switch used on my Farmall M tractor so.....off to the farm supply store and for $9.99 I purchased one....

I finished installing the starter solenoid in the T today. It only took 90 minutes start to finish. 😲 what a difference..... nothing gets hot and it cranks much faster. It also starts faster, I think that old style starter switch lost so much amperage across its contacts and turned it into heat instead of sending it to the starter.
I used a new...

Noticed some discussion on the Model T and cooling.
We have had our 1922 Coupe for a few years (50). Over those years the coolant of choice has been 100% antifreeze.
Every five years drain, flush, check and replace hoses. Yes It has a water pump. Never had a problem.

Fixed. I inserted the shaft into the hub, tapped the cam into onto the shaft, checked the fit into the bushing, then welded it. Just for piece of mind, I removed the other wheel and secured the cam onto that shaft too (welded). Just trying to stop a disaster.

I believe it is the F11 tractor muffler that costs less than $30, and it works fine. Many speedsters do not use a muffler, just a straight pipe.

Dan T, a RHD steering bracket on a Generator equipped car is way different to the usual LHD unit. There is no room for a throttle shaft going all the way to the Bracket. It is terminated well short of that.

George, I simply have to ask: since straight, pure, 100% coolant is an absolute terrible conductor of heat and was never intended to be used as a coolant by itself, why on earth would you do it? Thanks for the info and the offer for the dies. :^)
Looking at the bigger picture, the new wire wheels are from Brazil, the Lucas tires are from Vietnam, and the tubes are from ??? Only the air in tires is from Canada.
It was an interesting quest but perhaps I won't be too concerned about the hub caps on this international assembly.
Thanks...

Everyone else probably already knows this trick but just in case I thought I would share it. One of my least favorite jobs on my T has always been mounting the radiator and trying to get the mount studs up high enough to get everything on them and then the nut, so what I figured out was I took a piece of 5/16 fuel hose, cut off about 1/2 inch and...

Sounds like a good idea. In the past I have been putting a block of wood, or a tool the right height under the stud. Your idea seems like a good one and you can even leave it in place if you want to.

The Model T became such a success due to the assembly line which enabled Ford to build so many at a low price making it affordable for the masses. The Model K is a beautiful car. I wonder why Henry Ford didn’t bring the K back and start manufacturing them using the same assembly line method as the Model T. Do you think that, had he done that, the...

The “Scurlok” was a form of “limited slip” using spiral bevel gears for the actual differential.

Searching old posts on this new forum is fairly easy. But searching for them from 2018 and earlier seems a bit more time consuming. Is there an easier way to look up an older post that I did possibly in 2017 about my 1915?

Hello all. I just bought a box of ten (10) circa 1930 Mazda 32 & 32 CP, 6 to 8V auto headlight bulbs. Can these be used on my 1926 Model T? It makes one wonder how an original box of ten survived 90 years without ever being used. Then I come along. LOL! The vintage box looks good in the tool box in the trunk of my T. With both filaments being 32...

If you end up having to resort to new, I think the least expensive (I don't call any of them cheap) would be Wards Riversides from Lucas.

Lots of people thought we were crazy last year when we began talking about playing a game of Autopolo with our Ford Model T speedsters but we proved them all wrong recently when we gave it a red hot go. Our venue was the Brooklands Airfield near York in Western Australia.
The arena was a 300 yard long strip of airfield 50 yards wide. The gravel...

It was good practice for the Model T work.
