This is a original brass quadrant from a 1913 steering column. Does anyone know why the D is stamped on it?

So I've been doing some more reading about clutch fingers. When I put the transmission together I adjusted the clutch fingers so that the clutch spring (I used a new one) was 2 inches all the way around. Now I learn that there is also a 3/4 inch measurement taken under the clutch spring as well. Would this be 3/4 if the spring is at 2 inches?

Do you have to twist and lock the reflector in place? It seems like the pressure between the spring and the headlight ring would hold it in place. It just seems very fragile to press against the spring and then trying to twist it in place. Thoughts? Thanks..Tommy

I have had my 1930 Tudor for several years and I am planning to purchase a 1914 Touring car. I found a really nice one that has been basically restored to the way it came from the factory. This is good and bad because it has no brake lights, no Rocky Mountain brakes....etc.....

Is it safe to bend the pedals on a '26-'27 hogshead to fit the floorboard spacing of a 1925 T? Not sure but I think that only the clutch pedal spacing is different, and should I bend them hot or cold?

I have a personal problem. Every time I attempt to remove a rivet or pin it turns into a mess. When you drill or grind off the head the landmarks are gone. I just took off the heavily occupied (mouse nest) radiator of my 27 Tudor and noticed this hole in the front of the block (August 23). Can someone tell me what it's for and do I need to replace what ever was there originally? Belt tensioner?? Thanks,

I am willing to change the small gear on the crankshaft to fit with the new nylon gear on the camshaft.
What is the best, easiest and safest way, without cracking the crankshaft, to do this? Are these gears tight fit?

Got the motor back from the builder and I can't set the commutator rod to the timer that now looks like a football.

To make matters worse the motor won't fit with these 4 extra cylinders, any input would be great.

I have had one of these on a shelf for quite some time, today I went out back and in a box I found a match
they look like the same part but one has huge letters and the other small letters
one with big letters says ACME SPG'S PAT 4-26-10
THE OTHER WITH SMALLER LETTERS SAY

I took many photos with my cell phone during disassembly and failed to save them. I fell in the water cell phone and all and can’t retrieve them.

So I've seen the diagram for adjusting the clutch It says to pull back on the pedal and adjust the yoke 1/16th of an inch. However I'm not sure where the measurement is taken. is it supposed to be measured like this? By the way I measured it at 1/4 inch I'll fix that if this is the place where it gets measured. For some reason the 25 T closed cars parts are not as available as early/late vintage. It would be interesting to understand if they are soooo different from 24 and /or 26. A simple example is the rubber mat. The only availability seems to be carpet!! Hinge pins--through 24 closed cars and then 26-27. I would like to replace the rubber bumpers...

The pivot bolts that screw into the windshield frame come with thin almost dome shape nuts. In the few diagrams I found these are not shown. Any suggestions on how these are used? They come with the studs from the vendors.

Here is how Ford sent parts to Dealers back in 1925. I say that because these came out of a small town in Tenn Dealer that quit selling Fords in 25. This is how they were found in the parts bin.

Three years ago I replaced my starter switch on my 26 sedan because it was becoming intermittent. That particular switch was on the car for at least 25 years. It’s the same switch used on my Farmall M tractor so.....off to the farm supply store and for $9.99 I purchased one....

What metal was used for the transmission bands? Was it just mild steel, spring steel, or ...?

I'm trying to sort out a problem with the drag link on my 24. It seems to be lower than it should be and is rubbing on the radius rod.

Does the steering shaft look too long? It seems to stick out further from the steering bracket than on my 1926 Tourer.

The question of how Antifreeze - glycol - is to be used for cooling is going to be open. As I stated I have used 100 % green antifreeze - ethylene glycol for a coolant. As I live in a region where it does not get extremely cold and the car is parked indoors in the winter, freezing is not an issue. But cooling is - straight glycol works...
