I will second 7018 rod. I would use 3/32 @about 90 amps. I have used it very successfully. 7018 is a malleable rod and is a perfect match with the pedal material. 100% weld is easily obtained by chisel shaping the joints, like said making the joint at an angle will make the joints longer and stronger. I seal silicone sealant and similar tubes with a drop of hot melt glue after cleaning the end of the tube. I just peel it off and start work when I need it, and re-apply another drop when I'm done.

Not certain about Briggs engines but 18, 20, 22 etc horse Kohlers should put out a max of 30 volts AC at the stator but will charge nicely at about 25 volts AC on that output.

Some Centerdoors have a body number there on the floor. Ours doesn't have a number there either. I believe being the number is stamped in wood, it depends on how much use the car had or possibly had a carpet to protect the number.

The paint I see under the dirt and dust looks pretty good. After washing it, you should try using rubbing compound to remove the oxidation and renew the finish. Done right, you might be able to obtain a mirror like shine. Meguiar’s makes a great rubbing compound. Jim Patrick

I took a look at the bed that was on the roadster when I bought it in 1955. Looks like the previous owner experienced the same problem and made a adjustment.

It would be tricky to get the flow balanced and optimized for sure. I guess more flow is needed to the bands than to the clutch, and filtering out the trash is definitely desireable. Dan's modification looks pretty good to me...

I bought a roll of 18 gauge solid copper insulated wire today that is intended for thermostat wiring. It is rated for 150 volts according to the packaging, but that must be for very low current. When I was a kid, a local builder replaced the canvas to on his English Vauxhaull roadster. There were three separate panels with the joints lapped over the next panel behind. Painted a similar colour to the canvas, it was difficult to pick from the original. There's no reason why the same could not be done to a T.

There are actually two separate coils in the one unit. They both knock down the voltage so the headlights don’t burn out. The bright wire goes to one and the dim to the other, the single wire goes to the headlights to be wired in series.

I was 11 years old when I went to the MTFCI Clear Lake, IA tour, and for my first time saw a loud, low, fast, red boattail speedster.
I fell in love with that car and have wanted one ever since.

In 2013, the car was listed for sale in the MTFCI magazine. I couldn't take off work, and was arranging to go over the weekend 800+ miles to buy it....

P.S. If original bushings are still in spec with new or oversize pins. stay with the original bushings & change pins. general wisdom is original bushings are better than new ones. Both pin wear & bushing wear should be considered in the decision.

The frame blanks were all the same, the pressed channels were all the same so all the frames were the same. With US production being all LHD, all frames were the same, so riveting in the battery carrier was most likely quicker and less...

There are different scenarios to consider. On a rebuilt motor, I follow Frank's process. New oil on the start-up, use it for a bit and then replace with a new fill. That way any loose stuff is picked up and gotten rid of early. Then change it as you see fit, perhaps once in a touring season.

You are right, the block kit came with 2 sets of rear blocks. I set with a rabbit and 1 set without and only a chamfer cut on on edge I assume to lay against the bend in the frame rail. The pic above is from a car I crawled under and took the pic. I didnt look close at it but it may have the rabbit. That makes sense. That is why I ask and thanks.

Mark you may be wrightbut window glass will reach over 140* in arizona in the summer time. I found 1926 chebby head light glass is 7 3/4 so I used one of hem I had. THe light looks OK after I got the mail box imprint out of it.
