I have an original aluminum timer, but missing the oiler. What kind of oiler does this take?
If you have an extra one laying around I'd be interested in getting it.
Thanks Mike

Jerry,
I thought the timers for 12-14(?) were aluminum.
Yup, it looks as if I'm mistaken. I thought the only original aluminum ones had the integral oil filler neck.

Usually the cause of the float valve sticking is a bit of dirt under the valve. This can be removed and things will work out fine. However it can happen with too high float level, a worn or sticking needle, or the float leaking and filled with gas or sticking against the bowl of the carburetor. A gros valve can also be a problem. The carb should...

Hi, one of my braking rear end plate on my speedster 1914 is bent as you see in the pictures bellow. The new brake shoe look it will do is job I thought. Did you think I will have a brake security issue or it will be fine? Just not esthetic but look it will work as supposed. Any thoughts, comments or suggestions?

I have straightened several model T backing plates, including 1913/'14 ones. Usually no problems. I have done some cold, several hot, and my feeling has been that hot worked better and more smoothly.
The only one I ever had serious problems with, and basically I destroyed it, was an early Hall-Scott casting. It had been previously repaired, and...

Yep; you are right. I have built coils for both cars over the years and should have kept them straight. Or at least not have been too lazy to get up and check the tag on a Heinze box that I have on my coil shelves.

I have a pile of new parts, all reproductions from the vendors. Complete windshield assembly with new safety glass panels. Trying to find an exploded diagram to figure out where to start. I assume painting the frame and small parts first. I tried to search for an older thread with no luck.

I don't know how much it cost, but my grandfather and uncle drove a T from Los Angeles to Plymouth Rock and back to Los Angeles, in 1926. Hi Jim
Further to Adrian's photo of the blue tudor, here is one of its stablemates.
The blue one had originally been a green colour (still visible under the blue and grey layers)
The red one was our choice of colour scheme as it had been painted with a broom when we found the body.
Both of these cars were built on the same day as the body numbers...

In going through labeled bolts/nuts from the disassembly of my 1924 Touring, I cannot seem to recall where this part came from. It was in a bag of bolts marked Cowl/Dash. The piece is steel and measures 1 1/2 by 1/2 by 1/4 thick and is threaded to accept the threads on the screw shown. Can someone identify this for me? Thanks

Here are the dimensions of the last two NOS nuts I have. They can be easily made.
Long: 1 1/2 X 7/16 X 1/4 . Short 1 X 7/16 X 1/4 . Both are threaded 1/4-20. Oval head slotted screws are used.

Does any of you change the oil in the rearend on a regular basis? Like yearly? Every 5000 miles? Or not?
I would say if one disassemble the rearend for any reason, one pour new 600W (or SAE 250 gear oil) in the rearend, and then you check the level at season start for example, but isn't that it?
And yeah, I ran into a discussion about this.

I rebuilt seven of these coils for my early '13. I used Lang's primary & secondary coils for regular standard coils, plus the new Heinze points. Lettered pedals still appeared on 1915 cars being a carry over from earlier cars, this assembly is late 1914-1915 where mid way through the that year the pedals started to change from the lettered pedals to the ribbed versions seen until 1926-7. But most of the 15's had lettered pedals until late in 1915 when the ribbed pedals became standard....

Hi,
I just stumpled over this old photo from the city of Aalborg in Denmark:
Østerågade_Aalborg.jpg
It is the car to the left that looks like a T, but maybe with a local build Torpedo body?
If you know what the other car is, feel free to share.

Going off the writing on the radiator I think the other car is a Fafnir.
There are some great photos in that archive.

I have home movies of camping there in the summer of 1963. This is
where life went all wrong for me. Traveling about in the Sierra foothills
in the early 60's, ... it was a wonderland of old mining and logging and
ghost town relics and things to poison the minds of youth. I caught it
bad, and now I look back on a life wasted chasing rust, and...

I am building or refurbishing 11 wheels so I am thinking about building a trueing stand to detect and fix rotational defects. I have some worn out spindles that I might be able to use for this purpose.
Search turns up various designs. Ideas welcome brothers and sisters.

Wheel balancer is a great solution. I found it for less on ebay than HF. Glad I asked!

We have started a new subcategory on the forum titled 'Services'. There are a number of members that provide a variety of services such as restorations, rebuilds, transportation, etc and it makes sense to put these items in a standalone area for convenience for our users. Please note that all of the forum rules apply, posts should be on topic,...

I apologize for my poor communications skills, I was NOT advocating the new Services category be scrapped. My concern was that moving on topic content to the services category would only be an appeasement IF it remained an obscure category; IF it became widely popular, the complaints would just begin again. Then (and ONLY THEN), perhaps an...

I wonder if it was repaired or scrapped?
The Caddi doesn't look beyond repair... The Ford, on the other hand... well, it's just a Ford, throw it away and get a new one. Maybe even one of them new-fangled ones with the electric headlights... heard the price even went down on them.

What fun it must have been. Two things I noticed, the front radius rod seems to go under the axle and the brake rod seems to be missing. Although the seat looks big to me the rear door post looks like a '09 or '10 T Touring.
The air pressure is probably just right for sand.

I’ve never worked much on Strombergs. I bought an LF a couple years ago to take apart and see what would entail, but I figured I’d clean it up and try it out first. I found it was missing one plug that made it run lean and pop, after fixing that I just ran it and never attempted to disassemble it completely.

hey all,

Would suppose black, can't tell for sure on the real 15th million, shown below, the upper outlet seems as cast, but was likely painted black, same with the lower inlet and the metal pipe, as those parts were added to the block last.

I just bought this Bear Brand running board oil can on eBay. Of course now I’m on the hunt for the other two. I’ve seen lots of the Boyco cans but does anyone out there have a complete set of these Bear Brand? Would like to see the bracket that holds them together. And naturally I would like to hear from anyone who has extras.

Yup, I plan on waiting until I have assembled the set to make the carrier. Have seen an enclosed Bear Brand running board box for the cans. When we can finally get back to Hershey it will be a hunt for me to find the other cans, or keep my eye out on eBay and the forum.
