When I pull the crank gas sprays out of the carb, it looks like it might be coming out of the side of the carb. It is an NH carb. Could this be caused by a stuck intake valve. If I leave the gas turned on and don't crank it no more fuel leaks out. it can sit overnight with the gas valve on and no gas leaks out, it seems like that would eliminate a...

Thanks for all the reply's, all very helpful. As to the leaking valve question I will try to run a compression test soon. John Karvaly asks if the car runs well, I am not able to start it at all, maybe this is caused by the flooding as mentioned. Some one described the flooding issue as gas sneezing from behind the ID tag. That is actually where...

I don't believe anyone has really said anything (-or posted any pictures) about this year's tour. To somewhat keep this Model-T related, there were a handful of Ts participating. So on my 1919 runabout, the fan has seized for the second time in the span of 15 miles worth of engine run time. I’ve found that it does free up if I loosen the center shaft but I’d prefer to not have to fix it every 15 miles. Is there something I’m doing wrong, the fan spins freely when I put it on and then locks up and melts the belt before I...

For the aluminum style with the brass plug, I use SAE 90 OR 140. It's a good idea to check them once in a while, because they can run dry over a period of time.

Did Ford ever produce a one piece fan? Most I have seen are two pieces spot welded together where they cross. These can still crack, evidenced by the introduction of pressed in ribs in the centre of the later ones.

Propane doesn't mix with water, but is heavier then air. The main issue with escaping Propane is that it will flow downhill along the ground. If it finds an ignition source before it dissipates to the level where it is no longer flammable, things can get ugly fast.

On the 17 and later T's, the hood sits on the wooden fire wall firewall, if you have the brackets on the frame with the correct offset. Any bodywork added bolts to the back of the firewall.

If you have current FL title in your name, and want to swap motors, you can download a simple self-certified DMV form, note the title # and current motor # and then list new motor # of engine to be installed. Pay fee for new title, and your new title will have the new motor listed. Works for any vehicle prior to 1945.

Picked up this axle jack with some T parts a few weeks ago. It’s missing a few parts and I was wondering what they looked like.
The manufacturer is J H Whetstone & Co. Lapeer, Mich.
See the pictures below and let me know if you can help out. Thanks!

Thanks Eric. Mine doesn’t have the locking mechanism for the height adjustment. So I’m looking for a sample of what the mechanism looks like. But thanks for the links. I’ll do some research in those.

An early 26 coupe would use the upholstery with a green stripe, even if it came from the factory painted black. The early 26 Coupe and Tudors used a brown material with a green stripe, then it was changed during 1926 to gray with a green stripe. I wish I could find the early brown material; Bill Hirsch had some perfect material made up at a mill...

I think whitewalls or blackwall tires change the equation. I prefer a lighter color wheel with black tires and darker wheels with whitewalls to really make them pop.

Brassworks "Low" radiator

First post
I have a Bergs radiator (no longer being produced.) It works great but has one flaw. The filler neck is simply soldered on and Berg's cautioned not to put any more weight than a cap on it. I tried a dogbone and motometer (twice) but each time the neck broke free and had to be soldered back on.
I would really like to be able to use the motometer...
Last post
I can't speak for the Brassworks low radiator, but I have two of their high radiators and I use a dog bone on one and one with birds wings on the other. Neither have had any problem with the neck coming off.

When I was messing with the wiring on my '14 Touring with a '19 engine, the clip shown below was on the frame holding the wires right near the generator. I got it off readily enough but have not been able to force it back on. Is it a T part?

Thanks guys, it may not be a T part but it sure looks the part. I'll see if I can reinstall it.

I am trying to source a vintage looking Magneto-type Coupler that has a 0.750 diameter, keyed-shaft bore on one end, -and a 0.500 keyed-shaft bore opening on the opposite side. At last resort I'll consider using a modern coupler, but if someone knows of a source to purchase one, I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

Brent,
Restoration Supply out in Escondido California, had some made up that were able to be adjusted for timing.
I remember they weren't cheap but may be a solution for your problem,
Hope it helps,

Can someone provide a picture or instructions on mounting this switch I just purchased from Langs. I can’t seem to place it correctly. IMG_2024-09-22-121643.jpeg
This on a 26 coupe.
Last post
The best setup I have seen for a brake light switch is to us a momentary off (off when the button is pressed) combined with the earlier flat inspection cover. I believe an 80's GM switch is a good source. Mounting is done on the hoggshead where the switch is depressed when the pedal is all the way back. Once the pedal is moved the switch button is...

What gear did it come from?
Last post
I agree with Wayne, replace all three gears, from the same set if you can get them. I'd also stick with the earlier 3 piece gears. There wider teeth spread the load better than the later one piece gears with the narrower teeth. Plus your drum shafts have been running the wider gears, so bedding in will likely be less noisy. If you re-bush...

Here is link to the patent so you can read the details, and use the patent drawing item numbers to understand the claims.
But generally the claim is the secondary channel or flame path to the thinned cylinder inside combustion chamber.

I rescued an early block which had been modified to take 1/2 head STUDS! I used Keyserts to repair all 15 holes. They come in three different wall thicknesses. They use standard size drills for tapping the holes in which they are to be fitted. They use a standard size tap to cut the threads used to fit them in the holes. An added bonus is the...

I agree those look like 26-27 Ford accessory rear bumpers. Ford did not install any accessory at the factory but supplied them to the dealers for sale and installation. Ford bumpers were for the 26-27 Model T only. The improved Ford had the bumper mounting holes punched or drilled in the frame at the factory to allow easy installation at the...
