The hot wire from the switch (COIL) terminal, goes to the bottom of the '26-'27 box, that powers the coils.

First post
I am trying to convert my roadster to a pickup. I found a trailer someone created from an old Model T pickup bed. I bought 2 parts from Lang's they call pickup bed steel strips cross channels So far I have not seen a pickup that has these cross channels. They are drilled and appear that the steel bed strip bolts go thru them. What I'm trying to...
Last post
I think you may be right. The cross channels fit on the bed and I can see how they would help support the wood from the bottom. I then checked if they would fit between the frame and they do not. Perhaps they are for a 1925 bed as I do have a friend with a 1925 bed that has them.
Thanks for the help.

i am going to use a piece of square tubing over the axle 3/16 to 1/4 inch wall i will also put bolts in along the length to tighten up the axle and use a hub with a shim in it and will be able to cage the whole assembly for pressing on the new gear and incorporate many of the suggestions folks here have given me.

Good to hear! Another lesson in checking the easiest and obvious first. Better than pulling the engine, pulling apart and then find it was the starter bendix to begin with! Those engine sounds can fool you for sure.

Definitely a flatearth car. Love the sound of that 1 cylinder exhaust! Reminds me of when I pushed a’09 Brush through about a dozen switchbacks up Pikes Peak in the 1976 Glidden Tour. Was only 26 years old then. I’d sure like to add one to my collection of little runabouts.

Were NH vaporizer carbs an option or stock on the improved ‘26-‘27 T ? When I bought my ‘26 coupe in 1970, it had a regular NH on it. In 2000, I purchased a nice vaporizer to try and make my T it more historically accurate, but could never get my T to run as smooth as it did on the regular NH, so I sold the vaporizer and went back to the regular...

I have mentioned this before, my May 1927 had a vaporizer carb. It is set up with the throttle bell crank up close to the firewall so that the control rod runs over the head to the throttle on the vaporizer.
At one time I used to run a Stromberg go fast carburetor. I had to make a fancy linkage to go over the head and down to where the NH would...

I am looking for some tops/lids for Boyco gas/oil/water running board cans. I tried to find the chafing dish fuel cans as suggested in the past but they are not the right size on the brand I found.
I talked to Howell's Sheet Metal who makes new cans and holders but they have not found a source for the lids.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I agree with Mark. I did the front and rear springs on my 1913 this past winter. I wire brushed mine, wiped them off and painted with Slip-Plate. No paint or primer as per instructions from a respected old time mechanic in my area. I am very satisfied with the results.

Thank you Mark I assume most wear occurs in gear cover, It seems that there is a shortage of 4 to 1 oversize pinion gears with the vendors

This question is for the relative few lucky T owners that have one: an original porcelain Ford Authorized Repair Station sign. What were the dimensions of the original signs? Were there more than one size? Were they double sided? I know there are reproductions, both small and cheap, and larger and expensive. I've found one, but its in such good...
Last post
Well, that sign picture says it all. The one that I was looking at, is a reproduction. Not near as large and the bottom line says using genuine Ford parts , instead of cars, trucks, and tractors .

Does anyone know how the glass reflectors were attached to the 1910 style E&J model 466 headlamp? I think the early Browns had three lead tabs that threaded into the body inside but I'm not familiar with how E&J did it.

Would anyone know the correct size of the prop nut outer diameter? My 18 has 2 sizes. These are the rounded fasteners that hold the top bows on to the socket arm on each side of the car.
thank you in advance.

Yep, Larry, you're correct ;)
Lots of mfg. made these prop nuts and the locking tabs or nut locks too. Goes back to buggy days....

What is the thread size for the 3 screws that fasten the magneto post to the top of the 1925 and older hog’s head?
Thanks kindly, Tom in Taylor Mill, KY 41015
Last post
The threads in the hogshead in my '14 weren't exactly stripped but were worn oversize to the point that they wouldn't hold the screws tightly enough to suit me, so what I did was to make a set of 12-32 screws with heads the size of 10-32s. I then drilled out the holes in the post flange and tapped the holes in the hogshead to match and was in...

AN fittings use a 37 degree flare as the sealing surface and were developed during WW2 as an Army-Navy (AN) spec for aircraft use. Swagelok tube fittings use a 2 piece ferrule similar to a commercial compression fitting but are manufactured to a much higher quality level, and are generally available in Stainless, brass and steel. DSCN0003_03.JPG I have seen many different ways to fix rust holes, but this is a first. Shove a piece of tin inside the body behind the holes and hold it in place with screws and nuts and then wood screws thru the tin into the wood sill. DSCN0002_02.JPG DSCN0005_03.JPG

Seeing that they used slotted screws, the repair is probably pretty old and therefore may have been a practical rather than aesthetic.
If so, it's a decent repair, especially for someone who could only afford a used Model T as their car.

Some say Mobilgrease 28 is best for a roller timer. I can't vouch for anything, as I use New Day timers.

It did (tho I also got it off the video)... talk about forward thinking? Then again, commercial air service in 1920 was WAY outside the curve, yet it makes sense it would be in Australia, where (like Alaska) air transport was (and in some cases still is) is the best solution...

What is the best way to attach the data plate (smaller version) to the firewall?
I assume that mine is a reproduction as it is not stamped?
It has 4 small holes in the corners but is it easier to attach with double-sided tape?
Thank you experts.
Stay safe!

I think it's an original too, but the 1915's and 16's usually have deep scratches where the body rubbed on the plate. I believe Ford used large round headed brads for these, at least that is what I have on my mid '13 roadster. My early '13 touring has the big plate, February.
