No, the dogbone cap is way too small for model A , even too small for T I’m guessing a diminutive size car, thought someone may have an educated guess as to make. It’s probably perfect for Henry’s cyclecar !

Thank you for the replies. I had considered using a hoist I made to go on the back of my tractor to lift the rear assembly and lay it down. I dismissed that idea since the tractor doesn't have the finesse that is required. I will assemble on jack stands.

George, the 26-7 model TT's in Australia had front and rear wheels of the same size, eliminating the need for two spares. In Japan, with RHD, it would make sense that a TT was sourced via Australia as a restored car, or initially from Canada when new.

A single point distributor ignition system and the four coil ignition system used by the Model T are fundamentally the same.
For each individual function in one system there is an equivalent function in the other.

The dimmer was used with the combo light/horn switch first 1918 model year, dimmer on dash. Later ignition /light switch on dash, the dimmer sat in place of the ammeter on magneto only T's up to 1927.

Those crafty Canadians only used 3 holes in the fibreboard, one for the spring, and just two for the wire. The spring is hooked into one of the loops on one of the split pins in the rear spring U bolts.

I use a 12 volt Duracell in both of my '13s. The touring has one under the back seat, and the roadster has on in the tool box in back of the gas tank. They are the size of a Model T coil, and are rechargeable.

My drive shafts did not look like Dan's. They both had a radius.

Some libraries/archives will post photos intentionally in low resolution so if you want a high resolution you have to pay for it. From our local museum/archives I payed $40 a high res reproduction, I blew it up 2 X 3 feet and it was super clear.

The A/B cam crank center distance is 4.156/4.157 .

Dan's Model A, Center, to Center distance, is correct. As you can see, it is plus, or minus one thousandths.

The Model T is 3.936-70 to 3.937-80.

Never did I see those Spec's over one thousandths, and I know 4.155-00, has nothing to do with Ford Spec's.

My parts books make a jump from 1921 to 1928 with none in between. For at least 1921 it still shows the early perch bushing used with spacers. The later perch was made wider to eliminate the spacers. By 1928 the parts book was only showing the one type bushing for both spring and perch. You might look at some of the parts books between those dates...

Bill, not sure how property values and early car values equate today vs. “the day.” We know the Model K, as with most cars throughout time, get to a point where they are worth virtually nothing, while home values continue a steady increase over time. I was surprised at the valuation of the N.Y. property (but shouldn’t have been)....

I used to use the self locking two wrench push rods till I broke a bolt on one during the readjustment of the valves after running in an engine.
To repair the engine needed to come out and taken apart to replace the push rod. That was 10 years ago.
Since than I use the three wrench push rods without any problem.

Postcard was mailed from Auburn, NY Nov 1911. The skids under the car appear to be split rails, secured to the car by a hay rope and worn thin at the rear of the car. Glad the driver got to tell the story in his postcard.

Yes the large brake drum '26-'27 rods are shorter and straight because the longer brake lever at the larger backing plate is farther forward than on the small drum ('25 and earlier) shorter lever backing plate.
