Well, Erik Barrett certainly saved the day. He’s got a completely rebuilt 27 trans we’re putting in the car right now. And he had a 280 cam just lying around that I’m putting to good use. And he’s touchingly up the valve seats.

The tranny is perfect. All new bushings, new clutch, new ring gear etc. And the drums have much more material than mine...

I am restoring a very correct 15 roadster an need to know what the correct nuts and bolts that were used from the factory. And also if the nuts are used on the bracket side or behind the wood frame. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Nick

The oil pan petcocks on my car do not get tight until they are turned so that the handle is facing inward towards the pan. This makes it very difficult to open the petcocks to check the oil level. If I stop turning them so that they’re facing out, they are only snug, and I worry that they’ll come out while I’m driving or leak.

I bought a 1926 Touring last fall and have been working on it ever since. I've been working on Fords for nearly 40 years and own 9 cars and a 1952 Farmall H so am constantly working on something in the garage. For now at least, the T is staying somewhat in it's patina-ed look as I fix mechanicals.

I have read to run 1 gauge wire for my 6 volt system. However, 1 gauge is tough to find locally. I can find 2 gauge easy enough. Is anyone running 2 gauge? How does it work for you? I have been running 4 gauge, but the starter still lacks. The starter has been rebuilt. Thanks

I want to get safety glass put in my windshield. Thought I would take the entire thing to the glass shop. It looks like there are only the two bolts on each side of the windshield frame that hold it onto the car. Is that correct? Thanks in advance

I've found several T Differential housings that seem to be NOS. Does the I.D measurement look correct for a new housing ? There are no grooves or worn areas and some had hand tags attached.

Finished the gas tank with the black walnut saddles, trimmed in stainless steel, and double bead welt. The black speckles are guide coat for the finish sanding, finds imperfections.

I've thought that recording videos of some of our tours would create some great memorabilia and my new cell phone does a nice job of recording time-lapse videos, but I'm stymied by how to mount it on a Model T. A camera needs to be relatively tight to the glass for best clarity or you'll get side reflections or it sometimes it even wants to focus...

Both are clearly the 23-27 style with the square bolt holes, but one has the distinct recess in that portion of the bracket that attaches to the firewall. Otherwise they are alike. My 1927 T roadster pickup has a 1920 engine/transmission and at low to moderate RPMs it is smooth, but at high RPMs it starts to have lots of vibration under no load or running down the road. Yesterday I took the hubs out of a very solid set of 30x3.5 wheels. I need to clean and paint them for my TT project. One hub had a split where the hub cap screws on. The other is really nice. They both are wearing original paint. I used an impact to take nuts off and broke all but one hub bolt. going to replace them anyway

Just installed an I Timer. I am now able hand crank my starter equipped T by the first pull. This afternoon did 2 priming pulls went back just turned on the key and she started running. Yesterday went for a 22 mile drive on Bishop's Lodge rd to the Tesuque Market drove like a champ. Just made sure coils were adjusted and plugs gapped and cleaned.

Split brass rivets (aka bifurcated rivets) 3/16 shank diameter, 5/8 shank length (7/16 work thickness + 3/16 clinch allowance), 5/16 or 3/8 truss or oval head diameter.
Looked everywhere including internet.
Does anyone know where these rivets may be purchased?
Model T suppliers sell semi tubular rivets and also too short.

They seem to line up with holes associated with the top pivots, but I can't figure out exactly where they go.

1) most trailers have smooth wood floors. Is it a good idea to put some kind of non-skid where the tires ride to reduce the tendency of the car to slide to one side or the other? 2) Once the car is positioned and the straps tightened, should the hand brake be set or should you leave the car in neutral, held in place only by the straps?

Can a person make adapters from aluminum for 5 and 6 hole T hubs to adapt to Model A wheels? How thick would they be? Do A wheels need support towards the outer end of the center? I have round stock that I could use. My driving miles would be at a very basic minimum.

Recently, I sent my wheels off to be repoked by Noah Stutzman. Was wondering about the best way to seal them when I get them back. While I know that the purist way is to paint them since they came from the factory that way, I'd rather stain them a walnut color and use sealer. What's the best way to go about that?
