What Richard E says is quite true. And, there is one other thing. Looking closely at the front axle, that car has the tower spring shock absorbers on it. Some of those (including this set) hold the front spring about two inches higher than the standard issue Ford perches.
That is the style of front shock absorbers that should NEVER be used on a...

FreighTer Jim » Wed Feb 06, 2019 10:29 am

Touring season is going to be here soon enough
If you trailer your Model T - here are some tips that minimize the risk of having it stolen .....
Coupler
The past few custom car hauler trailers I have had built
were equipped with 14K adjustable couplers.
0D7F6F3C-CC06-477C-A2B4-C07B08898914.jpeg
Bulldog adjustable couplers make it easier...
Last post
No .....
Bulldog hitch couplers are not readily available - not many trailers
utilize that type of coupler.
Even a tow truck with stinger would have no luck trying to secure
my slotted channel with chains ( either mine or theirs ) to try
and tow my trailer.

Hi Folks,
This is my first forum post. My name is Brian and I just imported a beautiful 1913 model T into the UK.
The number on the engine plate is 261644 which fits in with the age for May 1913, but unfortunately when I tried to register the car in the UK, our highways department called DVLA, sent out an inspector to see if the car was real....

One thing to note in the video - the washers for the radius rods go between the plain nuts and the back side of the driveshaft flange, not under the front castle nuts. :)

What the timing rod rotates is the plate where the points are attached.
Since the duration of the burning of the optimal fuel mixture has a fixed length of time - if you want any engine performance at all - the spark timing must be readily adjustable to begin the fuel burning earlier or later depending on engine load and rpm. Under heavy...

I found a nice aluminum skinned door with all hardware and original paint. There are no dents or tears in the aluminum It is wood framed. Please have a look at the pictures and share your thoughts please. The door has glass in it, door handles, and lock. It is 24 inches wide by 48 inches tall. Thanks, Mike

Many years ago Bruce (RIP) told me that the front doors and the Coupe door where identical. However the early Fordor were made of aluminum whereas the Coupe and later Fordor were steel.
However both doors on my 1924 Coupe are aluminum. Bruce responded that he was correct and both doors on my Coupe must have been replaced.
I often miss Bruce and...

After checking to see if I had brass thrust washers, I rebolted axle housing and drive line. How easy should the driveline axle unit turn? It seems to be pretty stiff when I turn it with a large crescent wrench. Should it be almost a free spool?
What could the cause of the stiffness be?

As long as the sleeve is not spinning on the driveshaft it should be ok. BUT! One overlooked thing is the area is where the bushing rides on at the other end. The shaft can be turned down and polished and a custom undersized bushing installed. Chances are that with the condition of that bearing at the pinion end, it will need attention.

I have been pursuing Rocky Mountain brakes for my TT since I bought it. In speaking to Bud Williams of Rocky Mountain Brake Mfg. However, he still has the molds and is willing to produce some sets of TT RMBs if we can get at least 5 buyers to commit to purchasing a...

I bought a used original set for my TT from Dave Husen last fall. He had another set or two. He's on the forum classifieds.

James,
I too would be interested in additional photos and some measurements to be able to store my spare tire under the pickup bed. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Have a great day,

These books were published by the Lincoln Extension Service and are generic descriptions of manufacturing. They don’t appear to be affiliated with companies like Lincoln Motors or Lincoln welding. They show up on Amazon in sets or volumes from time to time.

I'd be happy to recommend some restaurants and brewpubs. There is limited public transportation and the hotel situation is a little on the pricey side. It's a bit of a resort town in that way. Depending...

If your Crank wasn't broken before, you have got something out of alignment. Either your crank was ground out of alignment, as very few people know how to grind a Model T crank. They always push hard on the center main when grinding, and grind the crank out of alignment. A...

Never have ordered or used Model T Fel-Pro set, but just looked at the set on eBay, and it isn't complete. Missing the front plate / timer cover gasket. And no felts for crank gear, but for me, I use Model A rope style. Think the Fel-Pro vintage gasket set is really overpriced for what you get for $150!
Always have used Lang's set, just...

Thank you for posting. The driver is the late Elmer Bemis. It's a 1907 K Roadster #808, originally sold to the Storz brewing family in Omaha NE. The car met and piloted the German car from Omaha a ways west during the NY to Paris race in 1908. It now resides with the former Towe collection in CA.

Bottom line for me is, for 100 years ago, Henry made a fine automobile and the legacy of the car lives on. His personal opinion, fondness of Hitler, anti Semitic views...it was 100 years ago !!
There's probably as big a following of VWs, but I don't think many focus on the Nazi aspect of the design.
I was a little more miffed of Ford's dealings...

Interesting Bit Of Ford History.
Ford Motor Company sold more than one million Ford Model T's in 1919, and each of those Model T's used 100 board feet of wood for the parts such as frame, dashboard, steering wheels and wheels.
Because of the amount of wood that had to be used in the cars, Henry Ford decided he wanted to produce his...
