Stop looking, I found a nearly new copy in my own collection. Who knew?
it seems that one of the cars I bought some time ago came with a large collection of T magazines, on the off chance that the one I was looking for might be inthe stack, I dug them out and EUREKA!! there it was.
Thank for looking guys

Interesting are the paint drips on the head and block.
I believe my T to have original paint and it has all sorts of drips in the old finish if you know where to look. However, seeing drips in engine paint is a first for me. (assuming this to be the original paint on the engine in this photo)

Bob Ore, owner of Qual Krom in Erie, PA, runs Qual Krom as part of his total restoration facility; so, as a restorer, he is particularly critical of details important to the restorer. He's done a lot of copper and nickel plating for me over the 30+ years that I've dealt with him. He's usually on the job at 3:00 AM 6 days a week!

I do NOT want to remove the hogshead on my 26 Coupe unless absolutely necessary to make a repair. I am trying to replace my clutch pedal shaft, the clutch pedal support cam, and the slow speed notch. Since the weather turned colder, I was having trouble connecting my cable to the battery. The terminal was too big for the post. I would use the original layered ground strap. I think they were originally zinc plated. The Model A's used the same thing, but because an A has a positive ground, you would need those shims to make it work. Some of the newer cables have a P and a N on top meaning you can use them for either size cable. A long time ago I found a NOS ground strap...

I didn't get a chance to see if the bolt could be retightened, however there didn't appear to be oil burn in the exhaust when running. The engine appears to be running smooth.
Any suggestions please? I've been wondering about possible...
Last post
That happened to me, it was a stripped thread in the block, could not get the head bolt tight enough.
However, the head gasket didn't blow and i didn't lose compression. It ran just fine until the next valve grind where i put a home made helicoil thing in the hole and it survives just fine.
Don't sweat over it yet.

I have always wondered why there is so little advertising trying to sell Alemite-Zerk fittings for Model Ts as aftermarket items. Even though they were around for some time during the T era. They became standard equipment on the Model As, and sometimes show up on Model Ts put on by previous owners thru the years. But again very little advertising...

The Artist's rendition on the card shows the forged L front shackles & r.r. mounted below the perch so somewhere between '19 & '23 according to the Encyclopedia so assume it to be in that era.

I have no experience with these units but know there are two different rear ends.

I gather from the service manual that the tail lamp wire and battery wire with loom, as well as the starter cable, should all pass through the cable sleeve. Last post
I wish I could be of more help here, but when I restored my '25 about ten years ago, I had custom wire looms made to match the originals. I had no problems pushing the looms through the sleeve which I also bought separately. Since the battery cable is the same at both ends, I would install it last after having installed the wire loom.

Help getting a 1912 to run on battery

I am helping a friend get his recently restored 1912 Model T running, but we've run into a problem. And it's just the opposite of what I read everyday here in regards to problems starting on Mag . I have never had any luck with the search function on this website, as it hangs up interminably. And I don't see any threads posted recently that...

O.K. Mystery solved. Before reading the following answer to our problem, let me summarize the situation. I had responded to my friend's request for help when he said this newly-restored 1912 wouldn't run on Mag . After troubleshooting for a while using the standard mag testing procedures, it turned out that the engine WAS running on Mag all along....

I know you have ice and snow in the US but here in Australia it's hot.
My dashboard temperature gauge was showing 47.5 degrees celsuis during a heatwave here in Victoria.
That's 117.5 degrees Farenheight, not suitable weather for a T Ford radiator!.

Am still pleased when the heat and humidity goes elsewhere, and while we have moderation in our seasons....
BTW - Heat has been turned off, and 'The Frozen Tundra' is allowed to winter just like our own yards around here. Woke this morning to see the thermometer to read -20.0 F , so will agree with the statement You know it's cold outside when you...

Delaware Title Question

First post
I recently purchased a Model T in Delaware at an estate sale.
The 88 year old previous owner had bought this car in Tennessee, when he was in college, back in 1947.
I was given the Delaware title, signed by his widow, and a signed and notarized copy of her authorization to settle the estate, along with a photo copy of the original Tennessee...

Doesn't matter. Just find the form and procedures (in your state) to correct the VIN error. Unless the title application provides for VIN corrections you'll probably have to obtain a title issued by your state, in your name with same error before they can correct the mistake.

WTB: Generator Front Plate

Well, I made a mistake. Attempting to change out the front bearing, and evidently didn't adequately support the underside of the generator front plate. The bearing was really frozen into position, and press pressure made a clean break around the outer boss of the bearing. No fixing this; I need a new front bearing plate for my generator. Anyone...

I wanted post to see if could while I still can. Very few if any of the people here know that I have been fighting a case of pneumonia since November and have not been able do anything since. Last week I felt like it was all but gone and all would be well till this past weekend. Tonight I found out it is not only still there but has spread to both...

timer refacing without a lathe

Nobody has a lathe, or at least one big enough to hold a timer they can rent me for just long enough to reface a worn timer.
I don't think I succeeded with this setup, merely moved the problem from one area to another.
How would you hold the spinning stone still in the wooden board? Maybe I need to bush it? But it's tight in the wood, bit not...

Good Lord Jason you found my pic of a timer refacer I cobbled up using a dremel tool. It worked pretty good too but I admit the timer wasn't really shot either.

Grandpa’s coil tester

My sister in-law lives in her grandparents home. She was digging around the basement and came across a receipt from a attorney for $25.00 for a patient on a coil tester. So she googled it and this is what she came up with. I never met him but I was told by family members that he was a very smart man. And loved to tinker. We do have documentation...

I *think* this is a discussion on similar coil testers:

White tire choice?

I'm going to be putting all white tires on one of the speedsters. While I know it's a personal thing, I'm curious as to what those who have done it would pick when choosing between Smooth, Ribbed, or the pattern tread all whites. I have used the Universal ribbed all whites in the past and they are fine although one out of 10 has turned yellow. I'm...

For a car that's little driven, and always on pavement, whichever you think looks best, including smooth. For more driving, I think treaded would hold up best. Some NOS New Zealand Firestones were my fling with white tires. Country roads ate 'em up PDQ. From now on it's black for me.

I haven't posted or checked the forum in probably 8 months as life gets busy (as you all know well).
Nothing new has really come up or happened. I'm still working at the British car shop and am currently at WVU for mechanical engineering.
I spent a week over the summer in McPherson, KS at McPherson College for a 1-week machining course that was...
