I have non-demountable bands in my transmission and have started installing wood bands. I checked the steel bands on an old drum and managed to pound them fairly round. I've only drilled the holes in the wood so far, but noticed that the ends of the metal bands are slightly bent inwards at the lugs, probably from years of being tugged by the pedal...

I got the kits for all the upholstery and the top for my 14 Touring. I did the front cushion, but have no desire to tackle the rest. Has anyone had experience with Marcus at Heritage Interiors in Columbus, Ohio?

Started snowing a little while ago...we're in the
10 -12 areas. Wind and temps in the single digits. After the storm goes through, a potential for lake effect snow for Sunday, and another 6 !

Has anybody heard from my fellow New Yorker Dan Killecut? Seems like he has been absent from the forum for quite some time. I have always enjoyed his posts- hope all is well.

I recently sealed up my differential with Permatex Gear Oil Gasket Maker. I did a little experiment at the same time, applying some between two pieces of aluminum sheet metal and clamping them together. The sealant is supposed to cure in 24 hours but the fine print says it may take longer under cold and dry conditions.

I don't leave the heat on...

Hello, I was hoping to get some advice on a wire wheel hub that has a crack on the outer bearing surface. I'm concerned on the pressure
on this surface when the bearings are tightened. My question is, has anyone tried to weld the crack closed.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Should the visible outside edge of the spindle bushings be left natural, or were they painted black after assembly? In other words, when all is said and done, should you see brass-colored rings or should you see all black?

I have seen in the past someone will post a picture of a 1911 T or an early 12 and someone will identify it as 11 or 12 but I can see any difference how can I tell the difference between a late 11 touring and early 12 touring by looking at a picture.Cheers From Winnipeg.

I'm desperately trying to save the fan pulley/hub for my 1918 engine. The fan blades are junk, but the aluminum pulley is in decent, usable shape. Unfortunately, all four rusty steel screws are frozen solid in the aluminum. So far, I've heated the screw heads with a propane torch (to keep temperatures down), applied a good penetrating oil twice....

I am preparing to bolt my Currier speedster body (basically a buck board) to the frame and have been wondering about the best method / product to seal the underside. Hoping that the collective wisdom of the Forum might be able to shed some light on this for me.

Splash Apron Measurement Needed.

I know this is a strange question to ask. Can a very kind person tell me the length of the longest part (front to back) of a 1912-16 Touring or Roadster splash apron ? I think thows years were the same lenght.

Nice set of wheels but not Ford? He told me they were 25 but did not say if that was tire inner diameter or outside diameter of wheel. Note the rear hub and brake drum. I would like to pass on any info if anyone can help.

Just finished rebuilding Ruckstell axel. Assembled using Ultra Black as a sealer between the two halves. Finished and installed in car. Now I have a nasty oil leak at the bottom of the housing from where the two halves join. I can see it oozing about an inch or so along the bottom of the housing. What can I use to seal this up?

I would like to use a 12 volt battery with one of my Model T. I already made the change for the starter taht will allow me to use 12 volt. My other T work on 6 volt as well. Which 12 volt battery you recommended?

First of all I am kind of a purist. I have a 16 T with a 24 engine so I don't have to crank it. But, I have the 16 engine in the garage and everything is undoable to bring it as close to a true 16 as possible. Having said that I guess I have one foot in both camps.

In attempting to get a 1932 spark plug tester working, I've found one of the transformer terminals broken off. The little wire remaining is so tiny and so short that I doubt I'll be able to solder on some kind of replacement terminal. So I went shopping online. just a followup on my piston ring project. the gaps on my old rings were .070 compression and .150 on the oil rings.
the rings are not worn thin so i am not sure what went on there. i ordered some .010 over rings from chaffins. i slid one
in the bore and it tight with no gap as it should be so i will grind the gaps to about .012 and install them....

I relined the brake shoes and now the wheel is real tight. I was thinking about removing 3-4 of the brake lining on both ends or grinding the brake cam thinner. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I bought a hand crank rebuild kit which includes a new bushing, pin, and two springs. I installed one spring with the end in the small hole near the crank bend so it keeps the crank from engaging accidentally. But what do I do with the other one? Has anyone successfully machined a groove for the earlier drive shaft into the later spool? I am finding it is not co-operating and due to the various thickness I may cut the flange nearly entirely.

If there's a better method that doesn't require altering the drive shaft much if at all please let me know.
