My generator is putting out about 7.5 amps but nothing is showing on the amp meter. This car use to show about 5 amps The needle jumps up on the initial start-up then drops down to maybe 1 amp with the lights turned on. How should I go about troubleshooting the issue?

Our club Prez Mike set us up with a great season kick-off picnic and winery tour today. 7 T's and 3 in modern. Nice turnout and great tour day despite the threat of storms rolling in. Think we beat em by about an hour or two anyway!

Here is a picture of two NOS parts that were on same wire. They came out of same Ford dealer. Same factory number on each.
But the ends are made different. Different manufacturers, cut ones cheaper to make?
You can see they are T 7648, front spring hanger bars. Part number 3814 I believe.
Am ideas as to why? Round one earlier than the cut ones....

Anybody got the pattern for making that block that is meant to reduce throttle and spark lever slippage? They don't appear to be available anymore.

But when I look at what the vendors offer for this, and almost every other year hood, each handle appears to attach with two small rivets at each end, or four rivets for each handle. The timer control lever is loose on the end of the rod. It moves back and forth a little so either the rivet is worn, the hole in the lever or the hole thru the rod. I am not sure of the diameter of the pin or the holes. If the hole in the rod is worn I was thinking about inlargeing it to a size a spring roll pin would secure it. What have others...

A friend has given up finding Rocky Mountain Brake Parts and now is looking for a disk brake set for a 1924 with Wire Wheel Adapters.

Evidently, they do not work either.

Was given this by a friend. He said that the person who built it said it was for a Model T. The only thing I can think it would be for is the pan bolts. One end of the long tube is a 3/8 drive, the other, near the wrench, is a socket. What do you think?

I have a question about the front spring on my 1918 Coupelet. Is the spring supposed to have 7 or 8 leaves? I know it is a square cut spring, but I want to be sure I have the correct number of leaves. Thanks Russ Furstnow

When I got Lizzie as an older restoration almost eight years ago, the headlamps were mounted with the catches inboard, which allowed the lamp doors to swing outward and touch the fenders. I never gave it much thought, other than the rims and lenses could hit the fenders, so I’ve been careful not to ding rims or break lenses.

My problem is the speed limit is 20mph and using Ford high is not practical because at 20 mph the engine lugs too much especially with 4 adults in the Touring. I am sure my gears are starting to wear out. Is it as simple as replacing the gears that are in there to remove some of the play in the steering wheel? How well does a new set from Langs fit after you have removed the old set? Might it require some work on the lathe? Thank you.

Over the winter I did the following to our 1919 T:
-Replaced the entire factory wiring harness
-Had the generator rebuilt by Brent Mize
-Installed a MTS voltage regulator
-Cleaned the contact points on the ignition / light switch
(along with a bunch of other stuff)

Tonight I noticed that there is voltage present on terminal1 (yellow and black...

Having the Z bracket redesigned by a friend and going to use the earlier OEM style that uses the two U-bolts with the front motor mount rather than that sketchy single point that was on it.

A couple years ago there were devastating forest fires in Eastern Washington state.
A Model T friend suffered a great loss including his shop and cars.
One specific casualty was his HCCT – it was burnt to a crisp.

The heat was so intense that it melted all of the internals of the meter, warped the meter faceplate, melted the magnet mounting...

Several of us took advantage of a nice day and had one of our tours to our favorite country Cafe today. Later I got a call from Joe Bell to say that the legendary Dean Yoder will be staying the night at the Bell Hilton, arriving in Ohio from the Luray swap meet and said anyone interested in a visit, to pop on over.

1. Small crack across rivet hole on the pumpkin not on the torque tube.
2. Brake flange at other end is at .98” depth instead of .8125”

After hours of trying, I can't get the center bearing bolt installed. Hours spread over days! My engine is in the car so I'm using mirrors and faith to align the bearing hole. Both are failing me. I mic'd the shell hole and my new bolt. There is a clearance of .003 . I took an old bolt and ground a rounded tip. I'm using that as a tool to line...

Setting the axle side play on a Ruckstell per the MTFCA manual. One bronze washer is not thick enough, a bronze washer and fiber washer is too thick. I have been sanding both washers, but that is a tedious task. Are washers available of different thickness? The manual says to sand two fiber washers. Any problem with using a bronze and fiber washer...

Cleaning and regapping plugs for my T and noticed that they're Champion 31 plugs. They look the same as the X plugs, but I assume they're not. Anyone know how or why they're different?

Thanks to a forum member here, and encouragement from a NJ model T bud,

I bought a 1922 block at Luray with crankshaft, pistons, valves and head for the sum of $75 bucks.

Another $25 and he added in a three dip pan.

These two items plus the two fenders I bought, all came back in the rear of my Ford Fusion.
