What fittings make up this shut-off to the carburetor?

Brass fitting names and sizes appreciated in the picture for the gas line to the carburetor. To me it looks to have a shut-off valve on the line and a quick disconnect at the carburetor. A few of us have talked us over and need help. Thanks in advance !

My truck has a compression fitting with ferrule so no pack nut.
Steve
A ferrule fitting creates a shear line. Compression rings are not a good fix. I have seen copper lines break off @ the ring edge. If using a steel line you may not shear the line, but I dont take the chance.

Bolts and nuts for hub

Which is correct?
Small or large head? Full thread or shoulder?
Hex nuts are either slightly larger than 11/16 hex, square or exactly 11/16 hex.
The slightly larger nuts have a very slight crown.
These were either on the car when I got it or in boxes of parts.
For these I also ask to provide part #s in the event I'm ordering new
Thanks in...

Allan,
You are correct, the real bolts have closer to a Bishops Mitre/High Dome shape to them in cross section and are full size shank before threads. Nuts of course have their own story as old nuts and new nuts tend to have different 'across flats' dimensions and sometimes even differing thicknesses but no one makes 'old nuts' for the most...

Cast crankshafts generally have large crankpins and main bearing journals, journal-pin overlap, and generally heavier sections throughout.
Modern cast crankshafts are often made of nodular iron , whatever that is. Given the limited diameter of the T bearing journals, I'd think a forged crank would be much better in a T, especially for a higher...

Checking for a newly revived TT’s owner, does anyone make floor boards for the TT commercially. If not does anyone have any plans with location & measurements? The owner said he’s just about wasted an entire 4x8 sheet of plywood trying to get a good fit. I have to admit I did chuckle. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, I installed the 1924 cab on a 26-27 chassis, and lowered IMG_1235.jpeg IMG_1237.jpeg ] the roof so it will fit in a standard garage. All original running gear with some modern upgrades for safety & convenience. Tried to use up surplus T parts before they end up in the scrap heap.
The truck Henry Ford should have thought about producing.

Anyone know if this will be a matching fender for the '27?
Many thanks,

Wow, I'm surprised that there are so many large and small differences between fenders. I'm going to get my 2 front fenders out and compare them with each other to see if they even match each other.
What a can of worms to sort through - or maybe just bolt on a replacement fender and call it close.....
Thanks for your feedback,

I am fitting cam bearings to a reground cam. So far, everything is going well and I’m pleased with progress. My reground cam no longer has a thrust surface full-circle on the front lobe. I could use advice on setting up the fit of a thrust washer kit.

As long as you're using the thrust kit, it should not hurt to remove some material from the back end of the cam bearing. Taking off .010 would give you plenty of space for future wear in the thrust bearing kit.

They are metallized mylar type internal construction and hence not suitable for use in Model T Ford ignition coil rebuilding.

Happy Easter.
I've only driven the car in and out of the garage, about 50 feet forward and 50 back. When backing up, I tend to stop at the garage door and then push it back in because of visibility and close proximity to my other cars. The steering is very tight. I cannot move the steering wheel when the car is sitting still.
Is this normal?...
Last post
Up to this point, no one has really suggested..Clean and oil the bushings kingpins and joints, not to mention clean and repack wheel bearings. The car may move a little bit better for you.

Hi just a question
Not 100% sure but these are the original ford dealer service bulletins that was gifted to myself a few years ago
These are special to me but would like to know was there many of these or did many of these survive?

We are currently trying to put a '12 rear end together, and finding that the wheels lock up tight when the wheel nuts are tightened, then I read in a recent Vintage Ford article about 1912 rear axles housings being 5/16 longer than later ones, and that if later hubs were used, they would need to be machined to clear the axle seals.
Was there an...

Before you go changing anything, find out just where the interference is occurring. Look for rub marks on the hub or axle seal or ??? and address the issue from there. If you find no evidence of interference, try giving everything a very light coat of spray paint, reassemble until it gets snug, move things around a bit, then disassemble and look...

Blockey tires

Got two of my Blockleys on. I will order two more in the coming month's. It was $687.77 for the two tires and tubes total. A big difference from the 4 Firestones I bought 25 years ago. I think I paid around $250 for all 4 back then. Looking forward for the first trip Thursday. There is a small show of vintage cars for a elderly care center...

I thought I would get a quote from Blockley for a couple of inner tubes.
2 tubes are 70 Pounds
Shipping is 56 Pounds.
Total cost for 2 tubes is 126 Pounds or $159
I wonder what it costs to buy them over there with the VAT added?
Royal Mail use to be relatively cheap.

I'm confused on the photo of the 1927 pickup! The pickup box on this car appears to be an early 1926, With the forward stake pocket all the way up.
Larry, you may be confused about the '27, frankly I'm nauseated at that ugly monstrosity abortion of what Tesla ( I think that's the maker) thinks is a truck! Stupidist, ugliest POS I've ever seen.

I recently finished my American Bosch ignition switch for my new dash on my 23 roadster. The car has an AB type 448 distributor too. I bought an original wire loom and am getting to the point of connecting the loom to the switch. I don’t have experience with a stock model t switch or ignition system/ operation. Many of the cars on the sale were used on a movie set. I have no affiliation to the cars but will be in Nokomis this weekend for tractor school.
Just in case anyone is interested in any them I could get more pictures.

Are there any photos or dimensions telling me where to install the speedometer head on a two piece firewall (early 1912)?
The hole for the cable has already been drilled in the floorboard so that sets the horizontal position. Im looking for info re the vertical placement.

Looking at a 14 roadster sideways with no one in it, are the front and back fenders supposed to be level with each other or are the front fenders lower than the back ones? I am getting ready to mount the fenders on my car and I thought to measure the distance from the top of the fender irons to the ground. The front irons are 2” lower than the...
Last post
I checked the 1920 parts book and found that the rear fender irons are the same from 1913 through 1920 and both the coupe and the roadster used the same iron. When I measured from the top of the front and rear fender irons I get the measurement of front 34 1/4 inch and rear 37 3/8 inch. from the floor to the top of the fender irons. That means...

Can the stock 40 tooth Ford crown gear be used in a Ruckstell rear end or is a special recessed 40 tooth gear required. I have a NOS 11 tooth Ford pinion to go with it.
Last post
Just to clarify what John's replied above.
Ruckstell did produce a 13/40 ring and pinion set. The Ruckstell 40 tooth ring gear was different from a FORD 40 tooth ring gear in order to accomodate the larger 13 tooth pinion. A Ruckstell 40 tooth ring gear is recessed on the back side mounting surface similar to the 13-39 tooth ring and pinion set...

I decided to try and rebuild a few coils. The new capacitors I received from Langs are cylindrical and do not fit in with the glass plate. Do I remove the glass plate with this newer style cap?
Last post
Hi Art ..... I'm not sure who made those capacitors, or even if they're still in business that I noticed also that they're not available. The ones that I installed in coil rebuilds as far as I know or still working because I haven't had any complaints.

Seeing a very fine line in the manifold, I suspected a crack and proceeded to wire brush and paint anyway. Crack seemed to go away. After running it, I now see that the crack is in fact, a crack.
Question 1: Can I should I drive it this way?
Question two: If I shouldn't, what are the chances of repair?.
Question C: If question A and 2 are off...

That crack goes more than halfway around.

I’ve read that there have been accidents caused by Rocky Mountain brakes not holding on hills and allowing the car to roll backwards uncontrollably in reverse.

Thanks, Dan, and everyone else, for all the great information. Looks like maybe I was wrong to be unsure of RM brakes, if they can indeed be set up (in tandem with the stock braking system) to prevent the car from rolling backwards and causing an accident.
Some may disagree, but I think this short conversation has been of critical importance to...
