This one's taken awhile. Computer and internet problems slowed down the editing process this year. Clips are stitched together pretty much in the order they were shot. Runtime about 27-1/2 minutes.

Thanks J.B.! I do enjoy putting these together. The only real pain is waiting for one of the 200,000 of my closest friends to move out of the way  . Especially tricky when you're moving around a car. It's okay, though. We all have the same right to be there :D .

I picked up a deep sump oil pan and I would like to use it on my 1926 non pressurized engine. I have other speed items on the engine so this would be a neat period piece for the bottom end. I have discovered the same over oiling with a tall dam. Also with a hi volume HH oil pick up.
As far as going up hill, the oil will drain back anyway rather quickly.
Your best shot @ front oiling is the hi volume oiler line until the line runs up past horizontal.(steeper hills)
I think I have maximized my front oil flow with the top of HH oiler &...

The new tubes lose about 5 pounds a week.

I believe the felt seal is only adequate until it reaches the saturation point - thus the drain hole in the nose of the crankcase - I've installed both & prefer the rope although I believe the rope is tougher on the crankshaft nose.

I have heard it said you should take the hogshead off before pulling the engine.

Not up to date on TT rear ends, only have worked on one. Do these letters and numbers have any importance? It is on this TT, about 1923. The story is it was use in the wood for a logging operation. I was thinking the transmission was turned around because the bend in the lever looks factory, don't know if you can reverse the lever or top on them. Also, the end facing the T transmission, does not look like it could be bolted up the Chevrolet bell housing. They might have been going...

You mentioned the Flubber T. A friend in California provided that car for the movie and I saw it many years ago. The T was alerted to make it narrow enogh so that it could sit on top of a modern car as in the movie.

One more thing to watch is when removing a stuck tire, be careful not to smash the lip of the rim with the tire irons. If the lip gets smashed, it will no longer allow the lock ring to fully seat.

I have a '13 Runabout and am adding a windshield, but I can't see any existing bolt holes in the body where the braces would go (see pics) so just wanted to ask how and what type fasteners to use? Wood screws or drill straight through to the outside of the sheet metal?
Thanks,
James
Last post
Yep, that's what I was thinking as well- the bolt is behind the sheet metal and was added during the wooding process of the car. What's even more odd is that my Runabout doesn't have any evidence of a large bolt there either....

If you can possibly fix the leak without removing the tank - I suggest that you do so. Removing the cowl-mounted tank is not a fun project. It's not rocket science, but there is a fair amount of disassembly involved.

I'm in the process of building a speedster and about to finish the chassis modifications. I would like to see examples of Panhard bars that have been used on Model T's. How were they mounted on both the front front and rear? Those of you that have them, did you see any difference in handling or stability?

Thank you guys for forcing me to sort through some old photographs/memories, to find a decent shot of the Panhard bar on old #4. Simple but functionable. I know no one needs another shot of old #4 but take a look of the Panhard bar/steady steering device. Bolted to the left of center, on the front cross member and stretching across to the right...

I recently removed some old Wards Riverside clincher tires from the rim and was surprised to find an old inner tube used as a rim liner. A grey rubber 30x3.5 tube cut into a strip and glued to the rim with rubber cement. Tire came off OK without having to cut it off. The Wards Riverside tubes were still good, had been holding air and have no...

Yes, the 4 mil pipe wrap works well for rim liners. Never use duct tape, as it will degrade over time.

Some years ago, Glenn Chaffin posted some information on a cure for a Ruckstell shifting problem that was cured by grinding one part just a little smaller.
A friend has been driving a 1926 Model T for three or four years since he bought it with that problem.
I keep telling him it would probably be an easy fix if, I could find those details, but...

Picture number five, the truck with all the kids on it, is particularly interesting. It appears to be some unusual early form-a-truck. The horn button coupled with the fenders suggest it is likely a 1917. The rear wheels and springs being huge and longitudinal suggest that it is quite heavy duty. However, what can be seen of the differential...

Rust Pitted 26-27 Wire Wheels

Everyone knows that the rubber rim liners sold for 26-27 wire wheels are just barely wide enough to cover the drop center part of the wire wheel rim. Some of my wire wheels are badly rust pitted, (although not rusted through), from rolled beaded edge to the opposite beaded edge. They are powder coated. Would I be wise to use a tube flap similar to...

The flap edges are tuck up into the tire and only a small strip can be seen but they do provide great protection to the tube from chafing and undetected sharp pit edges. I have been using them for 53 years and never a flat. Jim Patrick

Another point about replacement Model T wiring besides the correct color is the size of the eyes on the wiring. A while back a supplier used the pretty much correct colors but the eye connectors were a bit to large. If you find a used set of “newer valves “ most likely they will need to be ground. IE the faces ground on a valve machine. Do you have one?
Also you will need to grind the seats too. Just giving you a heads up.

A cutout should be adjusted to accommodate an 8 volt battery. Much easier to use a diode, which requires no adjustment.
