Inspiration Needed for Brake Light Switch on early T with Rockies

Can someone please post some pix of how they (cleanly/neatly) installed a Brake Light Switch for use on a non-starter hogshead that does have a Rocky Mtn Brake Pedal? If they also know the part number of the switch they used, that would also be helpful.
Thanks in advance!!

Thanks again everyone. I needed this switch to be 3 things, ... quick, easy, & sanitary . Like many of you, I just don't seem to have time to 'source' stuff like I did in my younger days. If I can order something someone else has R&D-ed, then that is the fastest (a/k/a: quick) way for me. If something is available that will work with little to no...

Hi All-
First post here. I’ve been working on getting our family ‘27 touring ‘Hank’ running with my 13 yr old son. He’s the fourth generation to work on the car in my family…we’ve had it about 60 years…long before me 😁.
Anyways, the car had a distributor put on it and was converted to 12v in the 60’s. We (dad and I) rebuilt motor in the 90’s....

Rich/lean looking for improvement in either setting.
NH's float setting has a starting setting per the T1 manual.
How well it runs @ hi speed & idle Is dependent on its needs adjusted by changing the fuel level.(per service bulletin)

Good day. I'm going through some speedometer parts that came with my 1915 RPU when I acquired it. While I am ordering the speedometer book, in the meantime, I was hoping someone knowledgeable would be willing to help with ID of these two parts. I believe the standard drive ratio is 2.5 : 1, using a smaller gear than that shown. The speedometer book will sort this out for you.

Photo is a '12 front fender and rivets to bracket appear to be a low round type, measure about 15/32 in dia.
The Truss head in Restoration Supply wouldn't seem appropriate, may have a pointed crown.
The rivets supplied by Lang's for their brackets are likely correct. Their correct bucking bar for the rivet head will keep the head looking factory...

I have a 23 depot hack with worn motor that drives fine.
It often free starts especially if its parked up for a few months, fuel on, 3 primer 1/4 turns, turn key and it free starts 70% of the time.
I also had another T with the same running gear. This engine was rebuilt when I got it and is tighter. However this engine never free started no...
Last post
I don't think free starts would ever damage a T engine. You'd have no compression pressure, and the mixture in the cylinder would not likely be ideal. You could expect a stronger initial firing impulse when starting the engine with the crank, where a better mixture would be likely and compression would be present. Suddenly opening the throttle on...

John, my tailpipe does point straight down, but the end is bent and the pipe cut off so that the opening is in the back of the pipe. This deflects the flow to the rear. I have never had any complaints about huge dust clouds, but then I am not usually in a hurry to stay in front of everybody.

We all know Henry liked to save dollars and cents whenever he could, seems it took a while on the Pet cocks, the radiator one was part No 3940 with the parts book changing to order and use the fuel tank one 2908 then finally using the oil pan 3079 Pet cock for tank and radiator as well.

Another wonderful sixteen!
Including a 1914 Touring car with wire wheels! Do you find the wire wheeled Ts just for me? (Of course not!) And here I thought the main reason for wire wheels was that they are stronger, safer, and more reliable than those flimsy wooden spoke wheels?!

After driving my 1927 coupe 10 miles for the first time since restoration, I noticed grease leaking from the ball joint. This is shown in the attached three photos. How common is this?
The first two photos show the left side of the ball joint, and the last shows the right side.

Scary stuff, drill the holes, do away with the wire and turn either the rods or the pistons as one or the other is in backwards, ie, the wrist pin lock bolt faces the camshaft and the split skirt faces away from the cam.

I have caller ID on my home phone and would get calls that were spoofed to look like a neighbor. I did not answer if there was no recognizable name listed. Then a strange thing happened. One day, I received a call and caller ID showed my name! I assure you that I did not call myself. I kind of wanted to answer just for fun but chickened out.

Help with tires

Sorry folks , more questions ( I’m a new owner ) and I know many of you have the answers .
Looking at either the 600x20 or the 650x 20 tires .
About $125 difference X 2
It’s not a lot in American but it’s a fair amount in Canadian difference plus shipping .
The truck has 650’s (32x6)
I dont want to mess this up and then try to figure what to do...
Last post
Adding 2 diameter will raise the vehicle about 1 and allow a little higher road speed, maybe 5%. Most trucks sit higher at the back unless loaded. On dual rear wheels, clearance between tires may be an issue with oversize tires.

Hello all, Cody here, just getting into the T side of things. I started with the Model A with my 31 pickup, now I want to taste the original recipe. I'm rounding up information, parts, books, what have you because I am starting down the path of building a very specific kind of T. I am wanting to build a 1915 Depot Hack, now I saw this one that's...

Be careful with extending the body too far.
When I put 2 good sized people in the third seat of my hack the front end gets a bit light.
Kids are OK but adults - no way.

Hi. Last week I posted a question about my magneto not working. Several people gave advice and I have it working; problem was in the switch. (Thanks for all the help).
I just took it for a short ride (close to a mile). It is definitely running more rough on magneto than on battery. Any ideas?
1925 touring with 1919 engine. Thanks for any advice.

Didja notice the spelling of Gasoline on the pump?
I did! That was the preferred spelling in earlier days. Although by 1915, the I ne had become the preferred way, there were still some people that continued using the E ne. Going further back into the mid to late 1800s, the E ne had been the more common on flammable fuels and chemicals....

I'm pretty much alone here in Klamath Falls with really old cars. We have plenty of hot rods of 30s & later cars and a few rodded Ts but my Ts seem to to be alone on the road. As such, I am often tapped to drive the Klamath County Museum's T, a circa 1911 speedster made out of many later parts with a Rootlieb body. It has lots of shiny brass and...

Probably pretty common in 1910 when autos were still a novelty. Things were changing pretty quickly in those years but horses & mules were still the prime movers.

Long long ago there was a rumour that there were a few special hogsheads made that had extra slots in them for magnets. These magnets were the same as the inside ones but adding them to the slots made the engine run without gasoline. Does anyone have any articles, photos, or knowledge about this super secret feature ?

Heres a Ford dealer service truck. Take a look at the jacks on the running board. Are those extensions of some sort with them? Interesting street location name too!
Maybe he was going to change the rear flat tire on the Touring.

I framed the ad, but it is fun to look at the magazine to see the other ads and issues of the day. I believe that Ford already had quite a few orders from their dealers even...

Try putting a WTB ad in the classifieds. If you got the time to wait, of course you can order a new radiator directly from Brass Works, or any one of the well respected vendors, i.e. Langs, Snyders, Gaslight, etc. Ignition switches as I understand it are...
