If you drive a lot and like to change bands cotton is fine but changing bands is not my favorite things to do and that's why I switched to Kevlar. As far as leather is concerned, cone clutches will grab unless they are oiled slightly with neats foot oil but they will start slipping terribly if over oiled and require dusting with diatomaceous earth...

I put my T’s on stands over the winter. These work well for me and it only takes a few minutes to jack up the car.

The Jitney could be new with starter and demountable wheels. The fronts look more substantial that 30 x 3s. It would be interesting if we could read writing on the side of the body.
It certainly is a pleasant photo.
I believe the building is the administration building at this point.

I am hijacking this old thread with another TT Rocky question. Does anyone know if you need longer hub bolts to mount the new repro Rocky kit for a TT truck? 1926 big drum of course, I don't think the kit came with any hub bolts.

To add a bit to Wayne Sheldon's history, when Winnebago motorhomes was starting up, neither GM or Ford would make custom chassis for Winnebago in the (by Detroit standards) low volume that Winnebago needed. Scott, thanks for the clarification. Interesting that our DO Rajo was also detuned. It is definitely a Rajo as it has the design tweaks Jagersberger made after he bought the whole project when Gallivan got in trouble for building them instead of Hispano Suiza airplane engines for the army.

Not sure what year you got, but reuse the spring contacts in Coilbox. If you bolts that hold them in are steel, replace them with some brass ones from an earlier car. Use electrical lead solder and solder the contacts to the heads of the brass screws.
Makes a big difference.

The Northern Michigan T's did the Tunnel of Trees tour but we never got anywhere near Traverse City. Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Cross Village. We had 11 T's and two moderns. I'm curious who the bunch were in Traverse City.

Update: I had talked to Dave at Chaffin’s and he was very helpful. Basically what he said was there is only one manufacturer making these mirrors and that they are made for a model A. They’ll fit on some T’s without modifications but not all. There were several different hinges on the enclosed closed T’s due to the different body manufacturers....

Now you are being silly. Everyone knows the earth spins on the axis which is straight across and whether right side up or upside down only lasts about a second. It takes 24 hours to turn all the way over :lol: :lol: :lol:

These pics may help you. The bed boards are held by curved sides of the bed, at the front and rear crossmembers, and by those metal strips that are anchored in saw kerfs of each side of each board. Special wide square toothed washers underside on the carriage head bolts.

If the car was sitting for 10 years, I would expect fuel system issues unless it was started on a more-or-less regular basis. If it was started regularly and gassed up with fresh fuel regularly then you are probably OK there. Why was the car converted to 12V and distributor?

Scott really good question, I have a B block October 1912. It has the Victor (1) headlights & sidelights including that funky Victor taillight. Victor generator black & brass but the top was painted black.

Found a salesmans book today that my dad gave me years ago. It was put out by Oldsmobile in 1930. They would not list how features on their car compared with Ford by items or price. They have comparisons to lots of other 1930 automobiles.
There are some pages typed in with makes, years and prices of used vehicles at a couple of their Olds...

If you read all the comments in the thread: Steve Jelf in a bad accident you will find a description of what is believed to be the cause of the accident as well as a description of the condition of Steve's car.

If I found a truck body like that, the hunt would be on for a TT chassis in similar condition. There are likely to be more of those than bodies in this well preserved form.

Here’s an original A-C setup that uses rods. Note that it still uses an equalizer, which imho is better than rod setups that do not.

Soap is corrosive, I wouldnt recomend it for a Model T fuel shut off valve.

I have not found that to be the case. Works well for me. It only takes a tiny amount. I thin coating on the tapered shaft, being careful to NOT get any tiny shavings of soap in the hole, has lasted for years. Just rub the bar soap on the shaft in a couple of spots. When...

Kingston RHD example. Here are a couple pictures of a Kingston RHD. Similar to the Holley the arm is designed for the front to back movement. But it does appear to be a slightly longer arm than on the RHD Holleys that I have. It also doesn’t have Detroit or USA anywhere on the carburetor.

I agree with Allan. Just don't do it. Eventually the brass will tarnish underneath the coating and upull have a heck of a mess. I actually enjoy polishing my brass, usually every 4-6 weeks. Radiators more often mainly cause they're so easy.

I have played with the idea a good bit and will be building what I consider a 10-12 tourabout. A 6 inch drop is about all you want. Beyond that if you get a flat you will be putting your motor on the ground. A touring body won't work because the lower you go the flatter you sit which makes the rear seats useless. Alligator clips are what are pictured in the photos. Crocodile clips have all of the teeth across a flat front, and a visible true coil spring to keep them
closed. The Jaws cross each other before you get to the teeth.

Best modern woven lining is Green Gripper. If you can get old stock woven lining, that would be good as well. Be aware of modern woven lining as it is pretty hard and not work as well as you might prefer.

Some type of governor or distributor shaft for a 30’s era car or close to that time frame. Another one of those parts you might find in a trailer load of parts and pieces you might see at a swap meet.
