I would like to make a rear mounted luggage rack for a wicker basket (have yet to get one) on my 1913 touring. Any advice or information would be helpful. Pictures would help as well.

I need suggestions for stop lights/turning signals for my 1927 coupe. Locations and types, etc. I have front and rear bumpers. The rears are the short split type.

The suppliers' catalogs have a number of options.

The Model T Ford transmission repair book, published by the MTFCA, recommends a 15 gallon solvent or oil drum makes a nice stand for an assembled T transmission for charging or other purposes. Fifteen gallon drums are much smaller in diameter than 55 gallon drums. My question is for someone who uses a 15 gallon drum for a transmission stand, WHAT...

With the early cars, at least prior to 1917, there was a parts list booklet, and with it was a list of tools included with the car. On that tool list is a #27 wrench. I can only assume it is the band wrench. But why? Why didn't they just call it what it is? The other booklet included was the Ford Manual.

My information about when the crankshaft was changed to an AA with chromium being added and changed to an EE with vanadium being added.

Were there any earlier changes added?

Evidently, it was not in Bruce McCalley's Big Black Book.

Bought this LF off of eBay. Cleaned it up inside and out. Very little wear on any of the parts. Went to install it today and realized that the flange bolts threads are small then manifold holes and course thread. Spacing is correct. Is this the correct LF for a T, or did I not do my homework before I bought?

When I nest the bows correctly the third bow is 5/8 wider than the measurements call for. Is this going to bite me in the butt when I put the top on? Or should I build it to the correct measurements and the bows not nest?

Noting the louvered hood on Rob's new Model B, I took a look at all the Ford models. B, C, E, and F had louvers. K, N, R, S and T (for the first six years) didn't. I'm not trying to make any point, just observing an interesting detail.

On a wooden firewall, is the terminal block held to the firewall with the same screws that hold the wires? Or are there longer screws for that? Thanks!

3 of the 4 bolts protrude past the need of the nuts about an 1/8 of an inch. Is this ok or should they be flush?

This is one of the most difficult KR Wilson Model T tools to find.

In my opinion, it is one of most desirable KR Wilson to own. It holds all of the components of the KRW combination machine (except for the machine itself), and has slots for all of the KRW transmission jig reamers. In addition it has hangers for almost all of the Ford Z tools....

As a result of Craig's recent thread ( ) we measured the secondary resistance of 25 'standard' coils today. There were more coils, but they appeared to have open-circuit windings (note that doesn't necessarily mean they won't produce a spark!).

Spotted this T speedster parked in front of the Kimberly Hotel on W. 50th St. in Manhattan. We stayed in this block several times over the past few months, and the car (and lamps) never seemed to be bothered. Every night, they put a cover over it.

A friend called and said he got a set of tires with some stuff and wanted to know what they fit. I went over to have a look. I came home with a new set of Goodyear tires for my RPU which I needed.

I have not seen a fitting like this. Is there an advantage to these over standard Zerk fittings? Does anyone know if a standard Zerk fitting could replace this? I’d like to not have to buy an adapter for my grease gun.

I have two side curtain rolls. They are exactly the same, and are definitely the real thing. I don't know of a part number, or what years they were supplied for. The dimensions are 25X19 and have a 2 1/4 hem top and bottom, and a 1/2 hem on the sides. The common sense fasteners are in 5 1/2 on from the sides.

I was changing the bearing on my Prius last week and they used these cotter pin looking things on the castle nuts and I thought they would be great to use on my 1927 Touring until I get the bugs worked out after rebuilding everything on this car, I cant find them because I cant figure out what there called, anybody know?

I used a string to measure the distance around the fan hub (ball bearing hub) and crankshaft pulley (original pulley). It measured 32 inches, so I ordered the 32 inch endless belt,1926-27 show in the supplier's catalog. I could not get it on, so I ordered the 33 1/8 belt. So I've watched the videos and see that a large set of Channel Locks will work for the task. What I haven's seen is the actual crimping done. Looking at the channel I can see where one side has a sharp edge and the other is rounded. A while back I stumbled upon this old postcard of a street in our town with a Model T parked on the side of the road.

I had to wait for just the right time when there were no cars in the way so I could park my Model T in the same spot to try and duplicate the picture. It’s neat to see what has changed and what things stayed the same....
