I believe the ‘09-‘16 muffler with 2 cast ends and tail pipe to be the heaviest of all 3 muffler styles. With a friend holding it below the frame rail, installation of 2 bolts and tightening of nuts is relatively easy. But if you’re the only ‘old car guy’ in the county, this is how I adapted:..Take the sewn loop end of a lariat and droop it over...

Good photos Vern. That makes it a high radiator shell. To be that far short it may have been cut down sometime to fit a low radiator. If it measures correctly for a high shell, the problem may be with the aftermarket radiator.

I have been looking at original air pumps for the T, but I am not sure where I would put it on my 22 RPU. If it had the turtle deck it would go there. If it was a touring car, it could go under the back seat. Did they make a mount for these that I could put somewhere on the bed?

Yesterday I drove over to Pittsburg (almost Missouri) and fetched home a Ruckstell. The $700 I paid for it was a swell bargain or foolish overspending, depending on what I find inside.

When you decide to rebuild you Ruckstell, if you wish to install the correct fiber thrust washer inside the bell, I had a number of them made awhile back. They are a bit thicker than needed .125, and need to be fitted to your application. The factory thickness was .110 . I don't know why Glen chose not to make these?

My youngest got me a set of Clymer books over Memorial Day weekend. One of them is a reprint of the 1926 Model T salesman's guide. in it, there is a listing of Ford publications. One of them that is super intriguing to me is Power and Haulage , which is dedicated to carrying the story of the Fordson and the Ford Truck into the industrial field....

As of today, two tires to Milwaukee is $578. Delivery has gone up.
The price of the tires did not change. 149 pounds each.
I am sure some of this is due to the exchange rate as well.
$1.27 to the pound.

Dave, wait till you fit and inflate before you worry about size. Universals are sold as oversize, so the OD of them is likely a little bigger. The Blockleys I saw on our last national rally were looked al least quite adequate, fatter than Wards and Firestones, and the tread to the edge makes them look even more adequate.

Interesting info on the A . Thanks.
Why not the same stuff for the T?
Maybe because most of it is not applicable due to not being a practice of the period?

Can I replace the head bolts one at a time and torque them to spec?
I have not run the motor yet.
Just start in the middle and go in the torque pattern, pull out one bolt and replace with the new bolt and torque.
Is this ok? Or am I looking for trouble?

I bought my Blockleys two at a time. That kept the cost per shipment under the tax threshold so I paid no import tax and had no import forms to fill out. I didn't buy the second pair until after I had received the first pair, so there was no chance of the two orders getting combined into a taxable shipment.

I posted this in the wrong place so I moved it here. Has anyone run an auxiliary transmission with a low, straight, and overdrive without a low gear drum or band in the transmission and shifted with the auxiliary? This would turn the high/low pedal into a straight clutch pedal. Pulling the drum would reduce the rotating weight of the transmission....
Last post
If you are just looking at gearing ratios it may be worth mentioning that what looks good on paper inst always the easiest to drive. A warford can be shifted easy between d to o and back but nowhere near as easy from u to d and we'll d to u could be very noisy. . .Of course this is assuming original equipment not repro.

The drop arm looks like the standard US part for a 1926-27 roadster-pickup. The license plate holder and light body look like standard Canadian 1926-27 parts. Its a factory assembly - the...

Here are some comparison photos showing the (apparently) Canadian Roadster Pickup assembly next to a standard fender mounted 1926-27 Australian (Canadian) assembly. Same license plate holder / tail light, just a different mounting bracket. Also an Australian ad for a Light Delivery Runabout . In Australia these had a wooden tray - we didn't get...

Was at a golf tournament where a 15 year old had lowest score. They gave him the 15 and under trophy, not the 18 and under trophy which of course was larger. Younger kids agreed he deserved the bigger trophy.
The weather here in Nebraska has been awesome. 180 mile run, hill climb, and dyno testing. If you are not here you missed out. Only...

Hi all,
I just noticed that the fan is contacting the front wiring harness which is not attached to anything. Can some one please tell me or show me a photo of the route of this wiring harness goes? What does it connect to/clip to, go over/under so that it won't be in the way of the fan.
Thanks so much,
John

Was the clutch shift keyed to the tail shaft throughout production or when was the keyway eliminated? Got a transmission recently that the person was destroying taking it apart.
It was rusted and very stuck and the tail shaft was very rusted and not usable but had the keyway. Clutch shift had been thrown away. The transmission shaft flange had...

It's with great pleasure to announce Brian Andrews of Rossville, IL was the winner of the beautiful Rich Eagle painting.
Randy Johnson of La Porte City, Iowa won the Model T spokes to be crafted by Dave Seiler of Dave's Wood Wheel Service & Wood Shop. Dave had also donated two wooden Model T's to the tour, a roadster and a touring car.

How do you take the driveshaft off of a TT Ruckstell? I took off all the bolts and removed the rear cap and main bolt holding the worm gear. I need to remove the worm gear, right? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Jacob Mangold

Hello all! It’s been quite a while since I’ve been on the forum, but I am just unsure where to turn next.
As a semi novice Model T tinkerer, I try my best to work with what I have, and troubleshoot the best I can. I have had a Holley G carburetor that every single time I start the car up and try to smoothie out the idle, everything is ok, but as...

if you missed it - "serial and engine numbers"
by
Been Here Before » Fri Jun 23, 2023 3:25 pm
Beginning December 12, 1925, engine serial numbers were also (usually) stamped on the frame. Obviously, those were matching numbers. Today, often they're not because the engine is a replacement.
According to the FHA site by 1924 there were over 15 million automobiles registered for road use.
By this time, late 1920s, automobile thefts and...

I ordered the metal door trim parts for my 26 touring but can't figure out where this (arrow pointing) goes. The door latch itself seems to be too big and i would think it is to protect the door panel like other two part do. Anyone have a picture?
IMG_E7032.jpeg
Last post
Thanks Dan. Mine is stitched on that curve. If I can get it to fit I may use it to protect the door panel The escutcheon ring around the door handle seems to be longer that the cutout in the door so i may have some carving to do to get it to fit.

I came across this image of Aberdeen SD taken back in the early 1900's. The county courthouse is still standing. I see some Model T's, although whoever colorized this old black and white photo took some liberty with the colors. What year do you suppose that touring car on the far right is? Maybe my imagination, but I think I see winged script Ford...

That Touring appears to have a short radiator neck and 1-piece spindles. I believe that would be '09-'10.

I'm curious (honestly so) why the organizers are so dead set against outside (external contracting) brakes... when we had that tragic accident, what was it, 2 years ago, where a car could not stop for the turn over the freeway and rolled, and now this one, where they lost the driveline, it would seem to me that External contracting brakes could be...

Does anybody know what the black material is, under the wood side and rear pieces on a 27 Tudor? It looks like some kind of glass setting rubber material. Maybe the dark cloth or substance came on the 26-27 improved cars. I installed a new roof on my 24 Coupe that was an original car and it didn’t have the dark substance or cloth. That’s my but car not sure about others in that year frame.

Thank you for your reply. The way I interpret it is that I should use the 3 1/2 reach fender bracket for the 13/14 year era. Is that correct? Craig
Wayne describes the difference of the irons as taller . The ones that fit best, your 3-1/2 reach is my guess
