Horn found to be a Klaxon c18 high pitch.
The motor does not work. Tore into it today and was disappointed. Electric Motor is junk.

I've seen some very inadequate precautions given regarding draining gasoline tanks on Ts.

George's problem is that the alternator charges at too high a rate, blowing and burning things up. After the engine starts, within 5 seconds a fuse blows. I don't know where the fuse is located or which fuse he's talking about.

Just to clarify George's problem, he is running 12 volts; NOT 6 volts.

From the pictures, the Model T's look to be in very good condition. If they run as well as they look, they should be worth top amount for those years. At least even if they need some mechanical work, the bodies and upholstery look good.
The parts are not all Model T parts, but there is a market for A and B parts too.

Equally tighten the U bolts. I have found that some cars just aren't perfect.

I have a late 1911. ( Nov ). It has a Rands windshield. The bolts are Brass plated with square heads. I'm not sure that a Rands windshield even had screws with slots.

But only 3 model T's, a 1913 Jackson, a late teens or early 20' Pierce arrow, and an air cooled Franklin.
Some super elegant stuff from the 30's, but mostly stuff too new for me.

In the photo with the saddle for the seat and who's next on the disc wheels, I would imagine the wheel centers are offset to make it buck and hard to stay in the saddle. Not uncommon years ago to make a bucking T.

it really does depend on the car weight - I run 28 lbs. in the lighter cars - 32 lbs. for closed cars.

Making some basic observations...

According to the Ford production numbers:

325,390 Model Ts were made in 1927
74,335 Model TT were made 1927 calendar year.
399,725 total Model T (and TTs) were made 1927 calendar year.

According to the recorded serial numbers:

14,619,255 was the first serial number in 1927

Steve, 8 years ago I tried one of those in that exact spot. I found that I couldn't get the threads to start. So I never put it in. The old one got reinstalled. Too much donkey pain to be bothered at the time....

A close look at the Ford Tag rivets will tell you someone switched tags, perhaps because they did not have the proper tag or wanted to upgrade the carburetor to sell it for more money, because the Ford carburetors are more desirable and sell for more money.

I would think that was very good! A roughly one percent variant in chamber size? You will have a greater anomaly than that due to the flow characteristics in the manifolds! Cylinders one and four flow better on the intake that do cylinders two and three. And cylinder number two has the worst flow on exhaust due to it following cylinder number one...

So this coupe that gets 300 to 400 miles a year has an oil leak at the starter.

Dan, did you actually call them to see if there is still a discount? It used to be a minimum of 6 bars and it calculated the discount for you. Now says to call for volume discounts.

One thing that you also didn't mention is the cost to get 6 bars shipped has become as much as one bar costs!! :o

I'm sure I have saved as much time looking for bolts as it took to build the 50 or 60 drawers to put them in. I have saved a hundred trips to the hardware store to buy a little screw in a package for $3. Besides I like to work with wood. If I use 1% of the bolts I have sorted out it will have been worth while. All we can do is try.

The high compression, Chaffin's cam, speedway manifold, Tillotson carb, A-K dissy with not yet built header engine is going in a speedster with a 10 tooth pinion & a Warford = 3:1 gear and it should pull that rather well. I'm a believer in delivering filtered air to an engine. I use the spring loaded foam filter available from vendors. I live in humid Alabama. I've seen condensation on the outside of the manifold, but run with no issues. With the filter against the hogs head it may pick up some heat, but I'm not using nor do I plan on using a hot air pipe.

As far as fore & aft spacing I usually put the gear on with the nut loose so you can spin the distributer turning the gear freely on the cam to check the gear mesh & spacing.

One more easy thing to check that can cause this problem is the bolt below the timer that goes through the front of the oil pan into the bottom of the engine block could be pointed up instead of down and will hit the terminals on the lower side of the timer every time you advance your timing and short out that cylinder. I will keep in mind the grounding out possible damage @ a hi rpm use.

The left side would be the driver's side. On the bench you can put them on either side but the perch with the odd number goes on the driver' side.
