Plug In Voltage Regulator For Early Texas T Mitsubishi Alternator

Does anyone know the Mitsubishi or Industry replacement part number for the external plug in voltage regulator used on the early Texas T alternators marketed by the late Ralph Reeder? I know Snyders sell them for $45.00 each (6 or 12 volt, available), but I figured they probably could be bought through just about any auto parts supplier if the...

George's problem is that the alternator charges at too high a rate, blowing and burning things up. After the engine starts, within 5 seconds a fuse blows. I don't know where the fuse is located or which fuse he's talking about.
Just to clarify George's problem, he is running 12 volts; NOT 6 volts.
I have never used an alternator, but, I have...

Our local club has seen a lot of growth recently. People are buying or resurrecting Model T's without ever having driven one. Either that or they've figured out the basics but don't truly understand the do's and don'ts of safe and effective driving. Some have also picked up some questionable information such as using reverse pedal to slow a car...

In July, 1963, when I was 9, I received my monthly issue of Popular Science. It was an issue celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Henry Ford and contained two articles on the Model T and planted the seed that grew into a lifelong love of the Model T. From that point on, I swore that, one day, I would own a Model T. I saved the two articles and...

We have a 1926 improved touring. The front seal for the crankshaft does not seal. The hood, motor and firewall gets covered with spots of oil. Is it possible to fix this seal with the motor in the car? If yes, how?

John posted a link to one from years ago BUT Do NOT use JB WELD!!!! Use Ultra Black or The Right Stuff because these are flexible and rubber based that have great adhesion but can be removed! There is a couple of part numbers for the seals listed

Hello.
Today I checked my Lizzy as preparation for my tomorrow trip. I was wondering that a lot of water was missing. I filled it up and then I got the idea to have a look on the back side of the radiator... and I saw one pipe appearing wet.
It is a radiator of a Touring 1915, brass.

Just took the inspection cover off the bottom of a new to me Roadster. We suspected the motor was rebuilt and never ran. Stuck bore scope into head and no evidence it was started just shiny .20 over pistons. Looks like it has a reground crank and cam as well with new valves, hardened seats, adjustable lifters and new Babbitt. There are dippers...

Balto absolutely stole the show. The ahooga horn that Steven Tomaso persisted in fixing worked perfectly the whole time. The crowd loved it.

Glen Chaffin had a large collection of those handles way back.
Reviewed the 2021 Catalogue, and no such handles?
In his personal stash. Call him.

I plan to drive my 1912 T in our 4th parade---it has 30X3.5 clinchers but I`m concerned about possible flattires.....Just wondering if I could replace a flat with a wheel and tire from my 1924 T. I`d prefer to fix any flat back home in my shop if I can temporairly use the `24 T wheel.....Would that fit? Thanks, paul

Having owned a model t for a few years and having repaired the odd mechanical features that were designed into the vehicle, mechanical features that make the car complex and antiquated, by today's standards.
And now newer owners are trying to up grade the car even further with air conditioning, disk brakes, electronic ignition, high tech voltage...

You can get a kickback when starting on magneto or on battery. When starting a hot Ford engine with the crank on period, low octane fuel, you could get a kickback with both magneto and battery switched off.

This is not my favorite task. I have beaten these out with a long chisel and hammer in the past to remove the ball bearing style, but thought I'd ask for suggestions now. Maybe a little heat on the race or the hub might help? Thanks.

I am a little confused, the parts books from 09 - 23 list the same parts numbers for the hub assembly and for the inner and outer races. I have a variety of early hubs some with narrow threads and some with wider threads, some have the notch only in the inner hub and some with the notch in both inner and outer, but the part numbers are all the...

Does The Model T Need That Hot Air Pipe?

A friend says his Model T never had a Hot Air Pipe, Part Number 4582, so he knows it must not need one.
My opinion is that Henry Ford would never put that part on, if it was not required.
There are usually three different opinions about every part of a Model T, am I wrong on the pipe requirement?
Last post
I'm a believer in delivering filtered air to an engine. I use the spring loaded foam filter available from vendors. I live in humid Alabama. I've seen condensation on the outside of the manifold, but run with no issues. With the filter against the hogs head it may pick up some heat, but I'm not using nor do I plan on using a hot air pipe.

Hi Jim,
As far as fore & aft spacing I usually put the gear on with the nut loose so you can spin the distributer turning the gear freely on the cam to check the gear mesh & spacing.

One more easy thing to check that can cause this problem is the bolt below the timer that goes through the front of the oil pan into the bottom of the engine block could be pointed up instead of down and will hit the terminals on the lower side of the timer every time you advance your timing and short out that cylinder. I have a 27 T that had this...

Ford's first production four cylinder car, the Model B, compared with other 1905 cars

Beginning with his racers, Henry Ford recognized the importance of horsepower to weight ratio. His first racers were no fluff, all motor and no creature comfort space eaters, evidenced by Arrow and 999, the 20 hp skeleton racer, a creation made up of two 1904 Model A 10 hp motors, and his 1100 hundred cubic inch six cylinder racer. This carried...
