I am making a pie wagon using A rolling chassis that the title said was a1924. There were no hood shelves with it and I ordered 24 hood shelves. When I went to put them on the rear hole does not line up. As the photo shows the 2 front holes line up but not the back. Do I have the wrong hood shelf or is my frame not a 24 ? I asked some well-known Model T rebuilders/experts who drive a lot what oil they use. The two answers were 20W-50 and 15W-40 (Diesel). I went with the 20W-50. I've been buying quarts of it to carry in the car, getting it at Walmart for the best price. That is ending. I'm told Walmart is deleting the heavier oils and going with only the light...

Can valve clearance on an engine with a modern valves and camshaft be adjusted using a feeler gauge? I don't know exactly which cam my car has, but it is not a stock cam. The engine runs well as-is with no excess valve train noise. The procedure for the setting the valve clearance with the original cam looks like a tedious affair.

After a 20 mile drive I touched the front wheel hub cap and hub and was surprised that it was warm. Felt the other front hub and it was warm too. Never noticed this before, are warm hubs normal after a drive?

After about 5 years in climate controlled storage I am looking to get my 1917 Touring road trip worthy. It was running off battery when I stored it, was fine for cross-town jaunts, but magneto was failing and it needed new bands. It also needs a new canvas top....

A day or two ago, Coker tire notified me that they finally have white clincher tires back in stock.
I had a set back ordered for over a year. They are now in transit to me.
I thought I would inform those that are interested, that they are available again.

I was surprised by this. After I tightened the fully threaded rod, I put two large 8 inch clamps on the spring. I really tightened them hard. When I went to remove the nut, it was loose!

Any comments?

Should the generator gear run flush with the cam gear? Mine is back about an eighth of a inch.

Lot S93 is listed as a 1910 Model T Ford. It its a roadster style body with a mother in law seat. I do not see any actual 1910 parts. It has a later chassis and what looks like a replacmen t reproduction body. Go take a look. Elmer had at one time a 1909 that had a later engine. At that time he would not ley me take a close look at the chassis.

I recently acquired this Kingston brass carb. It’s similar to the Kingston 6 ball but has an extra air valve on the back like the 1911 Holley. Anyone have one of these or have any info on it?

I have installed the front spring on my 1927 coupe as shown in the attached photos.

The second photo shows the 1/8 rubber pad on the spring. The third photo shows the bolt head in the hole in cross member. It does not completely penetrant the hole, but I assume there is sufficient penetration . The fourth and fifth are of the bottom connection....

Our family managed to get some work done on our 1914 Roadster this past weekend.

Restored coils were installed after cleaning and adjusting coil box contacts, checked, cleaned, and adjusted all wires and confirmed strong magneto output by having my son hold the spark plug.

Is there a way to identify connecting rods without weighing them? The weight might vary because of missing or damaged babbit. Ford may have used several suppliers for the rods but were any stamped ith a part number or identifier of some kind?

I have a taper leaf rear spring I plan to disassemble and restore next week.

I've not ever done this, nor have I seen anyone else do it. So, I'm asking.....

Once disassembled and bead blasted, do I apply the Slip Plate before any paint, or do I prime and paint the leaves, then apply the slip plate, then assemble?
