I have seen the idea of heat treating tools and parts on the forum, but for small hardware I am trying cold bluing. I scuff each piece then dip them for about thirty seconds and they come out beautifully, but soon after they get coated in rust. Any chemist suggestions on how to combat this? Maybe gun oil?

Our English 1921 tourer was purchased rebuilt, but the assembly of beautifully refurbished bits was 'iffy'. This resulted in many breakdowns and a loss of confidence to do any long runs. The worst problem was starting from cold. Refurbished coils solved this and better settings by me!

My 22 starter car did not have a horn when it came but I do have a hand operated klaxon and a magneto horn on hand (a little worse for wear and with a few dents that I plan to smooth out). Has anyone seen these accessory brackets that attach to windshield posts that allow a One Man Top to be used instead of the Two Man Top?

I started the process of getting my T pickup legal back in 2020. The virus came along,and I just put that on the back burner.
Well today,I left dmv with a tag! and the title will be in the mail in a few weeks.

A member mentioned that cutouts/voltage regulator were hard to find. Yet those with Ford 2N/9N tractors can get such cut outs.

I would like to replace a Gross Jet with a Viton tip valve in a rebuilt carb I have. I have the new jet, but I can't figure out how to remove the Gross Jet. I can't get a small wrench on it. Is there a secret to removing these?

Pre 1975 Volvo's for the most part all had Gyptal coating applied at the factory on the inside of the engines and transmissions. Now you know why they have broken world records on the most miles. Applied correctly it will not insulate but cause a non-stick surface to prevent crud build up.

Last week I was able to finally take the 27 Tudor (barn find) out for a ride. When I switched from bat (it ran smoothly) to mag, it started backfiring and running very roughly. When I switched back to bat it ran smoothly again. Any ideas as to what might cause this or what I should start looking at? Thanks.

What thread sealant should be used on the sediment bowl to tank, gasline elbow to sediment bowl, gasline elbow to carb? I do have the Permatex product shown in the attached photo, but it is not clear to me if this is compatible to gas.

What thread sealant for radiator petcock? Could it be same as used for gasline elbows?

When you pull the Motor or the Rear end, you have to unscrew the 4th Main. What is your recommendation so the 4th Main does not shift downwards?

Finished the generator rebuild. Followed instructions and suggestions found in Automobile Engineering, 1921, Vol VI. pp322-353.

Cleaned commutator, new brushes, repaired brush insulators, cleaned segments and cut mica.

Works fine.

Just about all of my car's wheel studs are loose. I don't understand it. Some have been welded on....unsuccessfully. It looks like only about 3 are actually holding on each hub. Maybe only 2. No idea why that would happen. So, can these be welded on or is it best to get new studs and have them professionally pressed on? Will they just come back...

What is the best way to determine the condition/effectiveness of the front spring on my 27 T Touring? Can I take a measurement of the overall length or height of the arch to determine if it is badly sagged. What are the proper measurements if this method is effective?

I thought I would share how I’m going to refresh my top.
I bought this awhile ago and the top had a broken bow. The top fabric looked good, the side pillows ware torn and frayed.
I’m going to replace the side pillows and rewrap the front 2 bows.
Is anyone interested in the process of how I do it?

Our local club of 6 Model Ts gathered at my house and toured the short trip to where this group took a mid-day stop at a church. This 1910 to '13 Ford Factory Model T racing car seat was in The Henry Ford collection for decades and was de-accessioned about 20 years ago in a parts sale; Glen Rand, an antique car parts dealer, purchased it. He later sold it to Bob Swanson of CT. It was purchased from Bob recently.

I'm replacing all my pedal cams, including the low speed cam and notch, which mounts on the pedal.

The notch is mounted on the low petal shaft with a 1/4 pin, however on the low speed notch,

one side is drilled to 0.250
