- keep your description as clear and concise as possible...

WANTED Racing style steering wheel
Replies: 12
by
geneabb » Tue Sep 24, 2024 5:51 pm
First post
I'm looking for a steering wheel for my 1926 speedster project as used on racing cars at the time. 4 flat spokes with a hub to fit the Model T steering shaft. Wooden rim preferred. I can purchase and pick up at Hershey.
I know it's a long shot but I thought I would try and see if somethings available.
Thanks,
Gene
Union Bridge, Md.
Last post
I rambled across this one. The seller had two different ones posted.
I have a similar one. Just a caution when looking at any wheel: while the hole diameter may be the proper size; the thickness of the hub may be too thick for bolting onto the steering pinion shaft. Not sure if I did that to the one I have if it would still be too thick

Looks like it could be useful for a HCCT restoration...
I have no connection with this. Just spotted it and thought someone here might want it.

The red blob is a damaged pointer.
Looks like it needs a fair amount of work to restore.
I'd give $30 for it if I lived closer.
Right. And, it's not parked at 0 . That may however be within the range of the zero adjustment to correct. Or, maybe not...

Today we have the late Bill Formby Carbide Generator business, he was mainly doing the 1909-1912 E & J Carbide Generator, but he was also doing the Juno Brown as well and a lot of the parts between Juno Brown and E & J were interchangeable.
Therre is a lot of stock, all the spinning patterns and dies, even the die for stamping the E & J caps....

If you sell the business to a catalog, make sure they are actually capable of producing them.

I have a new complete set of Rocky Mountain brakes for a small drum car, but I need a set for my 26 speedster. I checked with Chaffin’s, who normally carry the bands separately, and they are not available at the moment. I was planning to keep the parts for the small drum as spares for my 22 that has Rocky Mountains on already.
So, does anyone...
