What temp/How long do I heat HDPE pipe and fitting for plastic weld?

Post by ivaldes1 » Sun May 05, 2024 12:49 am

Hi all, I am retrofitting a faulty ground source heat pump system. I have received this new plastic welder from amazon. The sockets appear correct for US pipe (inches not millimeters). The documentation is sparse. What temperature do I set the welder to melt HDPE pipe? How long do I heat at that temperature a 1 inch and 1.25 inch HDPE pipe and fitting before fusing together?

Seller says for 3 mm wall thickness 230-250 ℃ and a few seconds. Is that about right? Documentation for the tool is sparse.
