A walk into the past

Post by ThreePedalTapDancer » Thu Dec 29, 2022 1:44 pm

Out on my morning hike in the hills above Boise, I came across an old military cemetery. It is home to those killed in the Civil War and Indian War. Row after row of soldiers, civilians, children and unknowns lost during that time. Even found a reminder of the lamps on my Model T. Sobering reminder of how easy we have it nowadays.

That is certainly a step back in time. It's on one of the many benches Boise has I suppose.
Something to think about.
Thanks neighbor.

While My Grandfather did not serve in the UN-Civil war as he called it he was born in 1861, He died in 1963 when I was ten he did tell us there was nothing civil about that war and told some stories ( the milder ones i suppose that he said his uncle relayed to him). So to my way of thinking the war between the states was not that long ago really.

I had relatives who watched the battle of Gettysburg from their front porch. I wish I knew more.
What an experience that would have been.
When did I do that?
