Scammers are using AI

Post by ironhorse » Sat Aug 05, 2023 1:12 pm

In a twist from an old scam scammers are now using AI to duplicate a loved one's voice. So if you receive a call from someone you love saying they are in Mexico and need $3000 to stay out of Jail start asking questions. What is our favorite movie? Where did we go for lunch the last time you were here? ETC. I had heard of this scam about a month ago and was suspicious of its authenticity until I got a call from my nephew that he was in a bad car crash in Tijuana..... I knew for a fact that he was in a hospital in Chicago recovering from a liver transplant. All AI needs to duplicate someones voice is about 22 seconds of a video recording on FB be careful and for the latest on this and other scams visit https://amac.us/stop-scammers
Do it right or do it over, your choice. Drive like everyone is out to get you!

And this is exactly why I hate AI ( artificial idiots because people arent enough  ) its getting very concerning. The proplem is people need to THINK!!!!!! BEFORE this stuff gets released to the public. In the eyes of the makers AI is a rozy idea of man and machine working hand in hand, but the real world dont work that way!
Just a 20 year old who listens to 40 year old music, works on 75 year old airplanes and drives 100 year old cars.
The past is only simple because hindsight is 20/20.

It's Artificial Idiocy.

Meat is plant based, unless it's some cheap fake Asian Honey Bear. When you walk through the corn, hold your hoe up high. Elephants rarely bite, but when they do, you'll know it.
Gin rummy? Sure! Strawberry Gin rummy with frilly underthings now on sale.. HURRY!
Cold bites. Fish bite. Do you bite fish? You're probably a pirate. Call your doctor right away! HEY GARGOYLE, MORE PILLS, STAT!!!! Get great deals right now on funny hats like pirates wear and be ready for exciting roller coast fishing next September. Fish hooks in your lips go well with your neck tattoos. Be creative! Put bubble gum in your belly button and call the police!

Just remember, every night there are fish out there telling their friends about being abducted from the water and gazed at and measured by aliens and thrown back into the water ,dazed and confused from the excess oxygen they were exposed to.Few fish believe the tales they are hearing and dismiss it as to much sun exposure.

The recent one (MAbubakar) went back, stuffed links into their messages, which link you up to virus download sites, so tread carefully. These things are nasty as smallpox.

I have come to despise "AI".

There is a African Grey in the next room and yes,he is smart to have such a small brain but he hasn't mastered hacking on the internet yet!
I really feel like if AI was used properly it would be a great thing. But as with anything else, it is being misused and abused and is barely out there thus far.
I think AI would be great for writing movies, and creating the characters and such. The mess coming from holyweird is just not fit to watch any more
AI would be great to replace employees in jobs that are simple and don't require any responsibility , MUCH cheaper and no whining about a raise every 2 weeks.

But instead of regulating the use of AI in things like hacking websites, they will regulate it's use in the work place where it would be a great asset if left alone to grow
