Vintage Weaver Tire Changer

Just finished rebuilding my vintage Weaver Tire Changer.
Next project is to build a white oak base to place it on.
Followed by trying it out.
Should make tire changing a lot easier.

What color and brand of paint did you use?

Is is a standard Weaver color?

I have a couple of floor jacks that need some paint, wondering about colors.

Color is pretty close to what I found in a couple of areas
Paint is Rust-Oleum Painters Touch 2X
Semi gloss Hunter Green

Great job on the restoration, and what a nice piece of equipment to have in your shop! I don't know enough about Weaver equipment to know whether different types of tools were painted different colors. But just for reference, I have a Weaver "Auto-twin" floor jack which has gold-colored paint. I'm pretty sure it's original paint, since it has an original-looking Weaver decal on it, over the paint.

Congratulations on owning what looks to be a highly useful piece of equipment. Nice job of restoration and rebuilding. It looks as though it could be used on nondemountable wheels also, as long as the arms are padded to protect the wheel finish.

I have had mine since 1961 when I was 15 years old. I also believe "Model T Haven" has one on eBay it has been listed for months, $660. takes it home. George

Now I will pursue to learn the proper operation. I have removed a couple of tires from clincher rims and split rims. Not sure if it was the proper way or not but was a lot easier than removing them with the wheel on the floor.

I've had one of these for several years. I use it as a handy holder to mount tires. It must also be used for split rim work and (I assume) the big lever is used to pull tires from the rims. As I say, I would sure like to learn how that was done!

I can't tell you the number of times I wish I had this... beats breaking your back and wrenching your hands and maybe loosening a wheel changing stiff clinchers.
