I have a full set of original Dayton wire wheels and hubs for my speedster. One of the rear hubs (the left side) is ratty in the taper. The keyway is good, but the taper is oddly worn. Has any one had the taper of a hub rebuilt? And if yes, how and by who?
Failing that, any ideas on where I could find a replacement?
Being in Alaska, it’s very hard to find parts.
Need to rebuild or replace a Dayton rear hub.

Dayton may actually still have it. I have a set of Rudge/Whitworths from a Rickenbacker and they said they could help with those.
Contact them directly and see.
Good luck!

You might try Jack Putnum. I got a pair of rear hubs from him a few years ago. They are really nice. Worth a try. Don
