Like saying goodbye to an old friend

After a tire blowout revealed multiple razor sharp rims a couple years ago, I found myself with new rims and spokes in the Buffalos and a set to Blockley tires on the way. A spare set of wheels kept the car in service, and eventually the rebuilt wheels and English rubber were seeing action. Was only able to drive about 2 miles before figuring out the fresh rebuilt Ruxtell was in need of serous attention.

It’s been a long saga of spokes, rims, gears, bearings, paint, and assembly... but she’s on the road again, and performing well! The rebuilt wheels and Blockleys ride beautifully!

Unfortunately, now I have to say goodbye to the little tire nubbies that I have grown so fond of. Did about 50 miles over the long weekend, the front has just a few nubbies left, and the rears are nothing but a memory. Farewell old friends...😉

Funny how we humans grow fond of silly little nothings? Wearing in the new tire is a normal and desirable step forward, yet, somehow a small sadness invades us as we make that positive step forward. Silly little nubs.

Is the roadster getting to know Spanish roadways?

Kevin, yes I understand how you feel but the most important great step forward you have done is by fitting Quality Tyres and Tubes! These will last you a long time, give great handling and no leakage! Great Investment! Well done (IMHO)

Hello Wayne, nice to see you here again. Family and work matters had me and my energy soaked up for the past 5 years but now I am getting freed up to work on the T and get it back on the road. I have moved out of the city and now live in a more rural area so the roads around here will be more fun to drive on. Really looking forward to it!

After a 400+ mile adventure around the Olympic Peninsula in WA last week, I found a few of these little buggers still hangin around 👍

There were lots of twists and turns, a little rain, a little shine, and a few dirt roads too. We even came to a sliding stop on the new Blockleys, and the tire screech was beautiful. High pitched and loud! Not the usual sand paper scuffing sound of the usual tires. Wet weather performance was good, with no noticeable loss of performance. Of course, I dial back my driving habits in wet weather for many reasons, but am extremely happy with my new Blockleys!
