Brake lights on a ‘22 touring
Thought that I would share my solution to putting brake lights on my 22 touring car. I Live on Long Island and drive in traffic and feel I should have brake lights. I use the car for local trips etc. I wanted to be able to take them off, and put them on, quickly and keep the original configuration when I’m not using them. As of now I have not put the legal license plate on the wood as I have that plate set up with magnets which allow me to attach them to the 22 plates seen in the pictures. I’m working on detachable turn signals for my next project to make the car safer. I am looking into wireless lights but that is another subject.

Why don't you just hang on back of body or fenders? I have one brake light inside my taillight. put in a double socket for taillight and brake light. I have seen two used when they use turn signals, but either hang on body or fender. It is the board which looks very odd and will need to be removed if you use the spare tire. you could even make a metal bracket and squeeze between the fender and the body and bolt to it.

Norm, didn’t want to change anything from the way I found the car. If I would need the spare, it would take a couple of minutes to remove my setup. I plan to finish the wood. Don’t know if I’ll use a stain, linseed oil or paint? Leaning toward linseed oil.
