Removing the Package Shelf on a 25 Coupe
I know the older coupe's offer more room but has anyone removed the Package Shelf on a 24/25 Coupe? If so how hard was this and did you gain the same room offered in the older Coupe's?

Read the 1925 service bulletin on Cimorelli's site located here.
http://www.cimorelli.com/mtdl/service_b ... sb1925.pdf
There are detailed instructions for adjusting the seat location on Coupe starting on page 73. It appears to be very thorough with many photos.

This bulletin for more seat room is for the 26-27 Coupes and Tudors. It came out in Dec 1925 and is advertised for the “improved Coupe and Tudor”.
It’s also in the Model T Ford service manual starting on page 282, paragraph 1258 in the servicing the improved car section.

The information was great for a 26/27. Does anying have info on removing the package shelf on a 25 coupe? I fear this is not possible due to the gas tank.

Just spoke to a lady with a 24 that looks good but I have the same problem......Can the Package Shelf be removed on the 24/25 Coupe to give more leg room.

The package shelf is only 1/2 of the problem - you'd have to re-mount the gas tank also to gain the room for the seat to be moved rearward.

Re: Removing the Package Shelf on a 25 Coupe
Well, actually, the package shelf is only 1/3 of the problem: the gas tank and the seat riser (together) would need to be moved back AND the seat back would need to have some of each side cut off for it to be moved rearward into the corners of the cabin. Oh, the package shelf is what actually supports the seat back, so, um, there's that as well.
An inconvenient truth is that people were smaller when these cars were built.

Harper is uncomfortably correct! People in the T era weren’t as portly and in general smaller. And yes there were a few exceptions and people just learned to deal with it or find something else to drive. I’m 6’3” and I’m fairly tight in my 24 Coupe.
The 24-25 Coupes are just built in a certain way and that’s about it.
