Model T production

Does anybody know how many model Ts were built after the 15 millionth and which style they were? What is the last serial number of the last car built and when did it roll off the line?

I have an answer to my own question. According to Floyd Clymer’s “Henry’s wonderful model T” book, there were 15,007,033 model Ts manufactured with the actual not ceremonial last day being May 31, 1927.
Next question, has anyone ever encountered one of the 15,000,000+ serial numbered model Ts?

Well, they made 7033 of them. It's a pretty safe bet some of those have survived.

Rumor has it that a few branch assembly plants continued producing TT trucks for a few more months past May due to local demands for commercial trucks needed. Story says the last ones were about September of 1927.
I do not know if that is true or not? And I don't know if they are included in the 7,033 count or not. I also don't know if that means a couple dozen or a couple hundred late production TTs?

Accoding to Bruce McCalley's The Model T Ford on page 536 the last car bearing the engine # 15, 007,032 is reported to be the last Model T Ford produced on June 1, 1927. Engine production continued until August 4, 1941 with the serial number 15,176,888.

Wayne, if they ran TTs into September, they would be 28 models! We need clarity to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the model T.

Ford Parts books printed in 1928 and 29 in USA and Canada, defiantly end the T and TT as year 1927.

What about Canadian production? I've always understood the "15 million" just to be the U.S. produced cars. The C prefixed engines go up to around 780,000.

The engine in my 1922 Fordor (danish build body) is #15,068,275. It is supposed to originte from either a replacement engine or an industrial engine used for my car at some point.

Does that mean there were 169856 engines produced as replacements? I am a a Model T tractor and equipment buff and have done a lot of research. Some of those engines were sold to companies that made tractors, combines. construction equipment etc. after 1927 before the Model A and later
the Model B industrial engines became available. Did the later T replacement engines sold to these kind of manufacturers use any serial numbers? I've always assumed no serial numbers like with the A and B engines. Has anyone that has done research in the Ford archives come accross any records showing sales to companies like Holt, Baldwin, Worthington, Toro, Carr, etc.

Note that my engine have the "Ford" and "Made in USA" on the boss with the number. That mean that the engine is ment for export which indicates it have come to Denmark back then either from Detroit or Manchester eventually.

It's easy to see the "Ford" logo, but not the "Made in USA", but it's there.

The last six month of 1927 may have been both exciting and chaotic for the Automobile Industry.

Ford was ending production of the Model T, dealers were low on stock, some automobile companies were purchasing older Automobiles for scrap. Used cars were out selling new cars.

And according to Automobile Industries (Philadelphia, Pa. - September to December 1927) Ford was sending Model T Parts to Ford plants abroad. In the same reporting a limited number of Fordson engines were being produced in the Highland park Plant.

Too, the report states that Ford purchased a number of Liberty Ships to be dismantled and used in the production of steel for the new cars.
