Re: bakelite repair
One time I repaired a Bakelite knob and used Kwik poly. I used a black powder to tint it to match. It turned out pretty well. I used sandpaper and a file to finish shape it.

Hello from sunny Florida. 5 minute clear 2 part (mixed 1:1) epoxy that comes in a 2 cylinder syringe. Get it at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Read the label and get the one that is rated for the greatest strength in Lbs. I believe some go as high as 5,000 lbs. Jim Patrick

Looks like an epoxy will work (Kwick Poly is no longer made) https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... ir+baklite
So look for one that sets up black to match.
JB Weld & Gorilla Glue also have been used see internet link

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Re: bakelite repair
I have used Bondo to repair or replace bakelite with good results:

Re: bakelite repair
As he says, bondo! If it’s a significant piece use mar-glass.
