Rear axle question

If you are installing the old axle seal you will use the steel washer outbound of the hyatt bearing.

If you are using the modern axle seal with o rings, do you still install the steel washer?

No, the steel washer is not used. It keeps the bearing and felt in position for the original type seal. The modern seal keeps the bearing in position by itself.
